ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted January 12, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted January 12, 2023 Since Alien Superstar is the only good song on the album, I'm not sure they'll award her for this album. Maybe her next one will be stronger!

However the category is weak this year so maybe. If anyone is overdue for respect though it's Kendrick Edited January 12, 2023 by Kylizzle

You trying to gaslight everybody into thinking minorities are grammy favorites is dumber than my comment you quoted tho, the problem is you were being 100% serious and I wasn’t
Cruel Summer Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I feel like AOTY is literally unpredictable at this point. No single nominee has a narrative strong enough to convince me they have it locked. I feel like Beyoncé is a little overdue, but I also feel like it’ll end up going to Coldplay or it’ll take a curveball to ABBA or something. Like seven of the nominees could win and wouldn’t really be that surprising.

She's been nominated 4xx before and have yet to win .. we all know if she had the right skin color they would have been awarded her with AOTY by now and U girls know thats FACTS! The last time a BLACK women won AOTY was 24 yrs ago when L Boogie won for The Miseducation, a coincidence? I think TF NOT! Also only 8 Black artists in total has won AOTY during the 65 yrs of Grammy and Stevie won 3xx so its even less frfr. Do U think Beyonce will walk away with AOTY? I would LOVE to see The Queen win she really deserves it and is one of the hardest working women in the music industry and she's still just as hungry for it as she was 20 yrs ago and U have to RESPECT her hustle ... with that said I wouldn't be surprised if Adele or Coldplay won. The Grammys seem to love to celebrate white mediocrity (as seen by the last few AOTY winners) and we as Black artists have to deliver a Thriller or Bodyguard type of album to get that kind of recognition and its not fair but life isn't fair so F it. ONLY on this shitty ass website do The Karen’s report U for trolling in your thread like WTF … i’m going to continue to say what i want when i want and that’s that!
UThinkUrMovinOnBut Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Beyonce somehow always manages to compete for AOTY when there are other strong contenders for it..

The fact remains that RENAISSANCE is a highly cohesive album despite having a variety of styles (like Beyoncé's last two solo albums are), and there is NO WAY you can produce something of that sonic clarity by just taking a bunch of tracks from many producers and putting them one after the other. There's a reason the saying "too many cooks in the kitchen" holds truth, and it's because having a great many people working on something can often lead to a messy result. In order to avoid that, you need a leader, a director, a mastermind behind it all. The album may have a large amount of total writers and producers, but so what? The Grammys are meant to reward quality music not the works with the shortest credit list.
