Even Shakira leave Barcelona to do a perfomance… that Disney special is not promo. I refuse to subscribe to watch it She better get to NYC ASAP! Scars Posted March 11, 2023 Share Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Plastic Hearts debuted with like 18M streams, but the hard work she did during the promo rollout and positive word of mouth about the music gave it some longevity. I don't see it happening for ESV. Sure, Flowers will push it to a decent amount of overall streams, but the wine-loving divorced moms that fell in love with Flowers won't be interested in songs like Handstand, River and Violet Chemistry, the new girlies that may listen to the album because of these three tracks probably won't be into it as a body of work. It doesn't help that ESV is polarizing even among her own fans. A next hit is the only possible salvation for this era. It probably wouldn't do much for the non-single tracks, but at least Flowers wouldn't be the only single doing all the heavy-lifiting. The thing is that Columbia has a history of going all out for the lead single and not doing much to push the post-release ones. Yeah, it's hard out here.
