I didn't know she had anemia. She's still doing super well and her edit in Behind the Blinds is so pretty. Honestly, Krystal was the blueprint for Ms Jennie. She got soooo much hate simply for the way she looked; it was quite wild.

I was on OneHallyu before ATRL and the way me and like 5 other girlies on that site were the only defenders of queen Krystal whew she was such a hated ICON the girls were mad because she was effortlessly beautiful doing anything :WAP: miss Strawberry WISHES she could have half Krystal's charisma while shes about to faint on stage.

On a real note Krystal's reason for no longer being an active popstar is her anemia, she really loved performing and you can see how energetic she used to be, she was lead dancer alongside Luna during the first few years of f(x) and they had the HARDEST non-SHINee choreos in K-pop at the time (check out Chu, Nu ABO and La Cha Ta) it wasnt until she fainted from overwork around the Electric Shock era in 2012 where f(x) vs SISTAR were fighting on the charts because SNSD was busy ruling Japan and attempting the US.

It was then that she was made center but put at the back during big dance breaks, her and Sulli really got the short end of the stuck for being beautiful but naturally mean looking (not their fault)

Krystal was actually SMs first scout pick when they were scouting but Jessica was picked first because of her age and she looked similar to Krystal, in another universe SNSD would have Krystal in its lineup :deadbanana2:

still wished she was in BLACKPINK tho!

to me:

Yoona - Irene

Krystal - Jennie

she had that WW It Girl potential. she was the Jennie of 2nd gen

TRUE.

Krystal in YG wouldve done so much DAMAGE.

A Rosé, Jisoo, Krystal, Jennie, Lisa lineup wouldve DESTROYED all the girls.

I hate that we already heard two aespa’s new songs with no album in sight :biblio: they will sound old and underperform by the time we will get them

basically the same way Blackpink’s RFL did

This is interesting, thanks for sharing! I had no idea about her being a possible pick for SNSD.

SNSD probably got me into Kpop, but fx was the one that really kept me interested, esp during the Pink Tape era. I remember seeing Krystal faint during Mr Boogie promotions and I do not want to watch that again, lol.

She definitely could have done BP since she had great range in general. I imagine she's likely friends with the group, anyway.

I think most of the hatred towards the ice queen image stems from internalised misogyny, since it's often girls attacking these performers for not acting a certain, stereotypically feminine way. Same thing is happening with IVE and it will happen with NJ as well, esp as they draw the ire of BTS and perhaps BP stans, too.

weird because people who dislike come from the same fandom, who happen to be the group who have absolutely zero talent :rip:

can Hybe fire who ever is aespa stage director. We need new and better choreographies.

Yeah, their only memorable moment is BM leg step imo.

Jennie suffered the same backlash as Krystal and Sulli too the only difference was that BP was already on top of the world, the large amount of haters drowned out by the millions of fans, F(X) did not have that privilege.

new tripleS stage is a mess:deadbanana4: half of the girls looked nervous and they were not in sync, what a way to ruin a good song!

I’m not a fan of the song but I guess I’m the one who like the choreography it’s their best choreography since NL.

The way they constantly do everything after BP does it. This whole choreo gives “Shut Down” vibes. Choreo formations and all

i wish SM would give them their own identity for god sakes. It’s weird

maybe if aespa had released Salty & Sweet or Illusion as their comeback title instead of Girls they wouldn’t have flopped into oblivion

Anywho…a SINGER :clap3:

makes sense, they wanted a unique name

there's already a singer named AURORA and if Baby Monster plan to go solo in the future, two Auroras is going to be confusing

they learned from the LISA and LiSA fiasco

I mean I get it

but I like the name Aurora lol

stop calling comebacks you don't like that were succesful flops ffs. its delusional as hell.
