K-Pop Thread: Red Velvet chilling and killing it, haters found fuming :giraffe:

ok I need to listen more

but at first I'm conflicted not because the song is bad, but because the verses and prechorus are so freaking strong (SOTY material) that I was confused when the HEEEEYY came in lol

I do like the chorus as well tho

Drama chorus is good, the talk-singing/rapping in the verses is getting old though

Chill Kill is okay for now

Friday release didn't stop their album sales hit 1M right away with Girls. Kakao's supposedly being better album distributor than Dreamus yet this is like the third time of messy album distribution this year alone.... :dies:

But... it's about time they start to work on the Spotify campaign if SM don't want to take that pay cut for Discovery Mode.

Something’s different about their album production cycle and now days 5 and 6 seem to be the biggest days. I’m expecting Aespa to pull another 100k tomorrow and then maybe 300k on Wednesday or Thursday to still make it a great first week.

I’m worried for RV. You still can’t buy their albums normally on Amazon. It’s beyond annoying, as is trying to find certain versions of Aespa’s albums here. Walmart is sold out of all the exclusives (I checked locally multiple times) and my local Target only had two copies left :deadbanana:

Idk how to feel about Chill Kill...

The verses and the pre chorus are good, but idk the chorus lack a strong melody like FMR, Psycho and Bad Boy :katie:...

This is exactly how I feel. Also, the MV did not live up to the teasers at all. SM owed them a higher budget and they did not give it to them. I wanted to see their ice weapons and a more creepy element in the video overall.

They’re 9 years in. Just getting to release is a massive accomplishment. Anything they get beyond that is icing on the cake.

Something I noticed between the 4th gen of idols is they interact way more and you can see them a lot together lately when in the past it was mostly just a company thing

winter Giselle somi and yunjin :gaycat3: and don’t say is just a TikTok challenge cuz is known Giselle is good friend with Somi and Yunjin I guess Giselle helped the introvert Winter and introduced her besties to her

I don't even know what are they smoking with this kind of lazy album distribution system yet they already set a target of aespa on 2M album sales & RV on 1M.

The distribution through Kakao seems to be a mess. IVE have already stagnated/declined in album sales despite becoming more popular as a group because Kakao won’t just put their albums on sale at Target/Walmart. RV’s album is not available for sale at all with U.S. retailers. And Aespa’s album seems to be massively under shipped. You can also only get the Amazon exclusive or a random Giant version when you buy the album from Amazon :deadbanana:

Really like the song "Chill Kill" and the album, there s a few songs that I didnt care much for but I can still see there was a really creative hard work behind it, the project as a whole is very good, hit or miss chart wise they always make great and experimental music.

My favorites are Chill kill, knock knock, Will I ever see you again, nightmare and one kiss
