Zack Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Jessica is launching BLANC & ECLARE in Japan. She will premiere the brand at Tokyo Girls Collection (the largest fashion festival in Japan: BP, IU, TWICE, aespa etc. have previously appeared there). And tickets to her stage introduction are already sold out. Not her ending up with one of the most successful idol related businesses ever. OT: Love the timing of this announcement too

Not exactly good news So basically, LSM refused to close the sale of his majority shares (18%) to Kakao, so instead the SM directors (illegally, if we believe LSM) created 9% of new shares and sold those to Kakao instead. This sounds...messy. I want to know what @harrythevifan thinks of all this...doesn't look like it will end well at all. Somebody save my girls RV and aespa from this mess

HYBE itself has only existed since 2021. SM, YG and JYP have each had decades of continued success (since the 90s/00s) to be considered the "big 3" in terms of getting K-Pop to where it is now, creating the idol system, debuting many iconic idols etc. In terms of actual finance/profit though, HYBE is already bigger than them.

I'm not sure if it's fair to consider HYPE a label since they owns many labels? Nobody considers Kakao a label even though they own half of the industry
