The constant downplaying of twice is so weird? They are doing stadiums (outside of Asia), debuted on hot100, get highest album sales for a gg in the US, their Spotify stats are good for a big kpop group,… 

 

sure if you compare them to some of bps achievements, they will fall short. However the same happens when you compare bp to bts.
 

bts - bp - twice are clearly the dominating groups globally.

Yup, it’s really weird behavior tbh. 
 

I have absolutely no idea why it KILLS some people in this thread to admit Twice’s (very impressive) career achievements 

must be some unspoken rule among a certain group of people that I’m missing to decipher?

and those other groups are literally at their peak rn with smash hits still making their rounds in kpop world, and streaming is way stronger today than when twice was at their peak getting smashes in Korea, so that’s not up for comparison either and that’s not what our discussion was about in the first place. You said Twice streams are not good for the past two years and I said that’s simply not true. 

There is clearly a decline bc none of their new releases were able to surpass The feels or their previous tracks. Others Kpop groups are able to get not only more streams than Twice last TT but also for their full albums,
 

Not even manage to surpass 100M streams despite promoting is simply not good especially if you’re the «3rd bigggest Kpop group on Spotify». Meanwhile others groups are getting multiples songs with more than 200M since last year. Right now they’re carried bc of their catalogue but at one points they will need new popular materials

The way I didn’t even compare them to BP , bc we literally have 3 GG bigger than them since last year.

Nj is smashing a lot of bps achievements too, domestically AND internationally, but we can’t say they are bigger than bp (yet).

Ive and g idle don’t have twices global cultural impact. however, if NJs keeps performing like this - add a succesful tour - they will take twices place soon.

The stans would know tbh, either ask the idols or just infer from their background, what they are wearing, if they pray or not before stage, etc. Sometimes it’s a back and forth debate, like with some of the atheists, the stans will debate if they are actually atheist or have “no religion” lol. If they tell their fans their “english” name and it’s kinda old and random, that means they are probs catholic instead of being protestant or sumn. Like Whasa’s english name being Maria and Chaeyoung’s being Katarina, those are their baptismal names. And of course some idols just come from church background and will have predebut stories coming out about singing in their church and stuff before they were famous. It’s somewhat interesting because idols actually seem to be disproportionately christian compared to the general korean population.
