Do you have any other kpop song recommendations from either this year or the past couple of years?

Oh boy where do I even begin :rip:

but start with some big players this year and last year I guess.

These are the girlgroup trinity songs from the recent 4th gen girlgroups, as in both loved by the audience as well as mega successful.
then you can dive into their discographies. It’s not that long.
there’s also other acts like GIDLE, aespa, TXt, ENHYPEN, stray kids etc and this is only the 4th gen. There also have been 3rd gen releases like Blackpink, Twice, Seventeen, Red velvet and you might find songs you might like in their albums. I didn’t follow that many 2nd gen releases recently except for Sunmi and she delivered quality as usual.

#StrayKids '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' aiming for #1 debut on the US albums chart with 190-220K units first week. It will mark

@Stray_Kids' third #1 album and biggest debut ever

Hopefully they can make it cause I was kinda worried they won't get #1 judging Taylor are on track making almost 300k this week and her albums usually don't get drastic drop on the following week.

Now it's time for JYPIG and Republic Records to take the hype and moment, and push SKZ in the West and push this whole campaign to it's fullest, such as appearing on American Award shows, variety shows and just get their name out there etc... They just need THAT extra push and then it's over for everyone. Like the next single should also be fully in English for example etc.

It's not like an NCT or SperM situation where the company is just sending them to the West in hopes of them sticking, cause it's very evident that there's actually demand for SKZ in the West. Like SKZ haven't even done 10 % of the promo some SM and HYBE groups have done! :rip:  JYPIG needs to get it together!

Had SKZ been under SM, they would've probably been pushed everywhere in the West already. But then again SM would've probably milked and forced it to the max to the point it would seem desperate.

HYBE is definitely the best company when it comes to pushing their artists globally

I still haven’t heard the new Stray Noise track(s)

Is it safe to listen to on a long drive or will I crash

Well avoid the title track S-Class for long drive cause it's very polarized.

The b-sides are much better, and I recommend DLC, Collision, FNF, and Youtiful for their more Pop/R&B-ish tracks. Hall of Fame, Item, Topline, and Get Lit are good choice if you want the noise hype tracks.

As much as I like to joke around with SNSD there’s no denying they have the most influential KPop discography of all time and put it on the map

I just saw Blackpink live in Osaka without Jisoo!! It was so sad and bittersweet but they tried their best with Japanese and all did Jisoo’s Flower dance a couple times during the speaking parts and it was a really special show. Took them about six songs to find their footing and you could tell they were visibly a bit shaken but once they’d started speaking to the audience I think it dramatically improved. They absolutely slayed tho Is it their first time performing without a member?

aespa needs to follow foot for reasons :lakitu:

4th Generation K-pop Groups with the Most Songs over 200M streams on Spotify:

1. NewJeans — 4
2. IVE — 3
2. ITZY — 3
3. LE SSERAFIM — 2
3. #ENHYPEN — 2

ENHYPEN the only 4th gen BG with 2 songs :jonny6: Polaroid Love is at 198 million and will join Fever & Drunk-Dazed soon :jonny6:. I hope they learned their lesson cause no one wants to hear the noise

Enhypen is so underestimated but they have their bops with universal appeal. And both songs are so different from one another. It's a little funny.

I get your point and It's valid, but I think they are in a very difficult situation where It's hard to release songs that will please both their fandom and casual listeners, because they already built a consistent reputation of releasing these disjointed noisy songs and got a loyal audience through it. And, in my opinion, they are the best in that niche currently, that's why they easily expand their public getting more and more people who like this type of music.

They tried to start transitioning to a more friendly image and sound little by little with MAXIDENT, while still trying to keep their flavour, and It was their least well received album and title track (minus in Japan). Even the fandom didn't like that much.

The only way I see them releasing songs that will please the two worlds are with "Red Lights", "Taste" and "Charmer" type of music as title track. Maybe It would work.

But I think It's also important taking in consideration what please them as musicians. People love to criticize, but this type of music is what they like to do. And, maybe, the path some want them to go isn't what makes them happy producing.

This is all well and dandy but for however much control they may appear to have. They're still a kpop boyband at the whims of their record label at the end of the day. I like when an artist is given some  control but they aren't always right and a record label should realize that and take over in such situations.

What is it with kpop groups finding their one lane and never straying from it? Kpop groups served so much diversity in 1st and 2nd gen that it would give a person whiplash. 3rd and 4th gren just does the same general sound and it's weird and boring.

"Queencard" by @G_I_DLE it's the most streamed song of the last week (2023-05-28/2023-06-03) on MelOn with 7.4M streams

The thing is that they are probably more competent in building the group's own color and identity getting a consistent audience than the record label they are in judging It's management through the years with other some acts.

I mean, they are getting the best results currently.
