Ppl are super depressed in our day and age and so they yearn for tings that remind them of better times and their childhood so I noticed holidays in general are being celebrated a lot harder lately.

 

Halloween is like a massive event now whereas when I was a kid it was a fun one day thing but not this monumental like three day event. Christmas is even worse because it’s even longer, in the middle of winter when ppl are the most depressed and it is probably the most festive holiday around so ppl have been going hard more and more each year to offset some of that winter blues. Kinda sad tbh

y’all have already been clocked, but I’ll add that AIWFCIY vastly outperforms on most platforms. Plus the song rose to #1 and classic status LONG before Mariah started making it an annual event recently. It didn’t have promo or performances beyond tours for a solid 15-20 years .
