The difference is that this was EOM’s 10th week at #1 and Adele wasn’t pulling any antics to make up for the difference of streams between the two songs EOM just had 3 months of radio play and positive callouts to balance it out but she wasn’t moving a finger to try to lock the top spot. THIS Taylor/Swifties can't say the same about their song and that's bothering them to the core and it's sad now

The Hot 100 doesn’t care about longevity throughout the week so its chart position on Thursday is largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Regardless, why are multiple streams of the same song a problem but multiple sales (even if released as a “remix”) completely fine? Let’s also not act like Taylor hasn’t done the digital covers either. She has. Which is why it’s so funny to see how Swifties (not necessarily you) defend her when she manipulates the chart but drags other artists when they do it. Literally hypocrites I can’t speak for the hypocritical Swifties, they invite the drags. But for the H100, it’s made up of 3 components. Drake is overperforming in 1, underperforming in 2. Taylor is performing great in 2, and overperforming in 1. Sounds like a better average to me. But anyways I never drag other artists for caring about their careers. Y’all can drag the Swifties that do though I’m not here to defend them, just Taylor.
EndofASadMovie Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Taylor won, atrl lost. Another reality check for this forum.
inmymendes Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 @unclefloprry your girl is #1 for a third week!!!

I'm now afraid for week 4, he is still having 15 (!) songs above her on AM and still quite a lead on Spotify, how the hell she's gonna do it on week 4? Her radio lead will be enough and his streams won’t be -as- high as they were this week. She should be fine. The album should return to #1 too.

pride4jc1222 Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 To be fair, though, the week that Easy On Me topped the chart with less than 15M streams while WDTAB had over 32M streams, people were calling EOM (as well as Stay) radio driven payola.

And those people were wrong. If people want a streaming only chart… billboard releases one. But the Hot 100 combines sales, streams, and radio. You can’t just exceed in one category while underperforming in the other 2 and have people feel like you’re entitled to the #1 spot.
Dula Peep Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 at least Drake with his half ass attempted of retreading the same song over and over is getting blocked so congrats on that

So are you saying someone shouldn't be able to occupy the entire top 10 based on streaming alone?

No i personallly think if your streams are doing to enough outperform 10 songs earning points from 3 metrics I think you earned those spots. And if you lost out on a spot because you’re excelling in one category but underperforming in the others, that’s just the luck of the draw. Drake happens to have 8 songs earning enough streams alone to go top 10. That’s great. He earned that. But Anti Hero is earning enough streams and sales AND airplay to remain #1. That’s great too. She earned that as well, in my eyes.

She earned that as well, in my eyes. Sure, but she's only earning enough sales because of cheap tricks. If she would be blocking Drake because her song was genuinely the most popular song of the week, then sure she would've earned it. But she's only blocking him because she released 4 (5?) remixes in the last few days knowing that her fanbase would buy them. If the remixes were truly popular, they'd be doing something on streaming and they aren't. These are just the facts. Going forward, there are two things I think Billboard should change. 1) Only allow sales from actual retailers (iTunes, Amazon, etc). The Global 200 already works like this so it would make sense for the Hot 100 to have this rule as well. 2) Don't count any versions/remixes that are released midweek. If you release a song on Friday, any remix released later in the week will only be valid for the following Friday and afterwards. #1 alone would probably stop this mess since it's way harder to buy multiple copies on iTunes but #2 would also prevent something like an artist releasing 10+ remixes in a week to make up for the fact that you can't purchase 4 copies per order on D2C websites.
B-Luke Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Block the pasty Christmas songs next to be fair though, I would‘ve loved to see RF at #1 this week
ClashAndBurn Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Tbh, I’m not mad about this if it means that Drake doesn’t get rewarded with a number one after his subliminal attack on Megan.

Her song was #1 for 2 weeks already and she's not entitled to stay number one. the world does not revolve around this white women and other people are allowed to do as they please. You think because she's releasing, no one should release anything for the next 4 weeks or something??? If she wants to release 1,000 remixes and versions of the song it’s her f*cking right to do so. People are not held at gunpoint to consume or buy them. Drake is getting held back at #2, as he deserves. SEETHE.

teenager Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 This was desperate/petty of Taylor but considering it's to block Drake maybe I can forgive her
