Hmm? Hold My Hand was literally a made-for-radio ballad, while Beyonce's soundtrack singles were anything but. Call when Gaga gets a solo single that does even half as well as Break My Soul. Because she hasn't done it in almost a decade without Bradley Cooper (A list actor) or Ariana Grande saving her from crashing into oblivion on the Bubbling Under

Playlisting and placements, just like radio, are decreasing at a fast rate after its peak. Exactly what I meant by “shameless payola”. They don’t care that it’s so obvious.

It'll be tough for it to make it to 20 weeks with Lil baby, Taylor and Drake/Lil baby album bombs. Right. She could've narrowly made 20 weeks by being in the mid-70s in week 20, but it's not happening anymore, unless the song re-enters for two weeks in the middle of November (by which point the effects of the album bombs should've faded).

Harry having up to three songs in power rotation in several stations at the same time for multiple weeks? Doja having 2 songs in power rotation at the same time (and having a new one enter when one of those leaves) in several stations? Do you need more recent examples of "shameless payola"? Taylor having 30M AI in 4 days is literally due to a radio deal, everyone knows it's paid for. I'll give you Harry and Doja though, very sus that both artists never leave power rotation.

Being in a playlist doesnt guarantee high streams, especially after a few days

Ricky Wilson Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 The fact that the hive and radio tried to lead people to believe BMS was a huge global smasha more smoke and mirrors PR as usual

Because they’re not “concerned”, the perks of “payola”. They paid so they wouldn’t have to worry about organic success.
Soda Pop Queen Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 and what about it? she still made history. Try to shade when or if the other girls get a #1 hit in their 40s. Until then, keep calm and #CUFFIT.

Like how is Spirit not radio-friendly? And not you thinking Bradley Cooper has any musical pull, when his solo songs are undisputedly doing much much worse than Gaga's in the soundtrack. I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time before solo songs (album tracks, promotional singles at the most) like ARUTW will outstream BMS. Not to mention that outside of Renaissance, you have 3 Gaga albums (most are solo btw) outstreaming Bey's entire discography. The lengths y'all will go through to drag Gaga and defend your faves. Y'all can condemn flamebait threads without bringing up dumb arguments. Edited October 26, 2022 by Ethereaaal

Be Alive? Let's not forget the entire Gift album flopped riding the coattails of the Lion King. let's not do the mental gymnastics tonight. Funny how ya'll look down on features but before 2022, Beyonce was N/A on the charts unless it was with Megan or Ed for years. Million Reasons - #4, reaching 700 m streams, 3x platinum Always Remember Us This Way - close to 2 billion streams across all platforms, reaching 1 billion on Spotify funny how ya'll love to spin this narrative as if she doesn't have solo hits

slw84 Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 how did this turn into a gaga vs beyonce stans thing? A song was released during a noncompetitive time...the song rose in the first six weeks with radio play. Stans showed out album release week. Afterwards, the "hit" mysteriously peaked and fell down considerably after album release week...almost as if there was a plan to run up the radio audience numbers so that the stans could do the rest album release week. Isn't it barely top 90 and has a couple of weeks to go recurrent. Lil baby's 2nd week, Taylor's 1st and 2nd week, Rihanna's song, Drake and 21 savages 1st and possibly 2nd week might push this out before 20 weeks. the song went #1 and served its purpose. She now has #1 songs and albums in 3 decades amongst the other legends to fit that bill. A hit for the moment but I wouldn't classify it as a smash hit.
Love4Janet Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Glad more people are waking up to the fact that Beyonce is TANKING this era. I'm embarrassed for her. Calling herself the Queen and telling everyone else to bow down, but Renaissance still hasn't scanned Platinum 3 months later. Kii

GraceRandolph Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 What??? How did Beyoncé’s #1, comeback single drop so fast?
