it was never meant to be a hit if it wasnt for radio overplay.

What radio overplay are you talking about? BMS was dropped on radio after like 10 weeks.

If you want to talk about radio overplay, then take a look at Stay, which is still in the Top 15 despite being a summer 2021 smash.

Not -27 :deadbanana4:

Truly a radio driven, frontloaded little quick single :deadbanana4: :deadbanana4: :deadbanana4: :deadbanana4: :deadbanana4:

lol, it’s like these artists can’t win with you people.

Radio holding onto Stay forever = Stay radio driven

Radio dropping BMS after 10 weeks = BMS radio driven

So which is it? You all can’t have it both ways.

The deflection here when everyone knows Stupid Love was a flop and this was called a "global smash hit" by the hive :rofl:two weeks at #1 and it will struggle to go 3x platinum and pass 300m on Spotify. Embarrassing.

It'll still get there as well as Cuff It

A certain artist cant relate to having 2 3X Platinum songs on their album since the Obama Administration

BMS was only supposed to outperform SL, and it did ×1000 so all is well.

No video, no performance, no promo at all and it did that.

It'll also chart on the YE Chart, which is more than that other song so no sweat here.

Regardless, CUFF IT is shaping up to be a smash, so it's all good :clap3:

Thankfully in the case of BMS, it also happens to be on a #1 smash album shaping up to spend its 13th week in the Top 10. See what hits do? They give an album LONGEVITY :clap3:

Lol @ the first page still being filled with monsters. Enjoy.

Still a solo #1 hit and will still make it to YE Hot 100.

Exactly. Not everything has to stay in the charts for 52 weeks thanks to radio overplay.

Break My Soul performed like a normal #1 hit

3x platinum tho? :deadbanana4:

It will struggle to even go 2x platinum at this point as it's still 700K away from it and about to leave the chart.

This is never going 3x Platinum.

This is never going 3x Platinum.

It was streamed 5 million times the last week

Did Monsters fail math class? It will likely already be past 2 million by its 1 year anniversary even if it continues to naturally fall in streams.

But thanks for checking in for 23 new Lil Baby tracks charting this week

In other news, Stupid Flop isnt going to hit 2X Platinum till 2026 with its weekly streams

I remember the streams weren't there before album release week.

Then radio stop playing it after the 6 weeks leading into the album and it started losing alot of audience.

I don't think it will survive Lil baby's 2nd week/Taylor's 1st week but maybe oh snap and then Drake and 21 savage are coming afterwards so it might not make 20 weeks.

Hmm...the song was top 10 on pop. rhythmic urban and had hot ac/ac and other formats.

It reached big audiences

And where do you remember this from because it’s not true :ahh:

We love a multi week solo #1 song which is extremely difficult to get

I’ve never seen such a shameless Payola in a very long time, it made no noise or impact whatsoever outside of radio. It’s only purpose was to push it to #1, it achieved its purpose and started dropping ?

Is that why it averages 10 million streams every week since release?:sadviolin:

This site has terrible music taste. You can go after the chart performance, but imagine thinking BMS isn’t a massive bop… I can’t relate. :jamming:

It will make the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End regardless...in the top half.

And as Armani already pointed out, we had an album bomb from Lil Baby this week. A LOT of songs took falls this week.

Heat Waves was finally punched out along with Big Energy and RUTH.

Sia, Jack Harlow, Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Elton & Britney, Charlie Puth, etc also took losses this week. Where are the threads making fun of them? That's right - they're not there because everyone else understands that we are in an ALBUM BOMB week and everyone suffered.

I can only imagine the mess next week if Taylor's album bomb pushes Break My Soul off.

Taylor is definitely gonna push it off, she's probably gonna debut all 20 songs in the top 40.

and then drake and 21 savage will appear the following week.

It'll be tough for it to make it to 20 weeks with Lil baby, Taylor and Drake/Lil baby album bombs.

So how long did "Hold My Hand" chart in the top ten? Oh wait, that was the other song from the box office blockbuster. My bad!

Hold My Hand did pretty well for a soundtrack single - please take a look at Ms. Carter’s most recent soundtrack outputs - must be a slow day in politics

Taylor having almost a 30m audience in 4 days? Harry having up to three songs in power rotation in several stations at the same time for multiple weeks? Doja having 2 songs in power rotation at the same time (and having a new one enter when one of those leaves) in several stations?

Do you need more recent examples of "shameless payola"?
