Barbie will surpass Mario domestic next monday and Mario global in 11-12 days.

But as you said.

This might be the most embarrassing thread of the year.

Barbie is still at #1 and just had 2nd biggest 4th Monday and Tuesday of all-time. 3rd biggest 4th Wednesday. So much money left to make.

Hive's losing their minds. I blame the lack of visuals :pukey:

Also, begging mods to keep this open just so it can get bumped :fan:

The bigger icon is winning for now.

I can’t imagine being an atrler and defending chris pratt

and saying that the super mario movie was talent

Barbie still might catch it despite Nintendo, Nintendo adults being a Disney adult offshoot, and Mario being a bigger brand lately. And Mario had the advantage of drawing kids + families to the theater. Take the L.

This thread coming the day it officially surpassed The Lion King (2019)

I hate how the Mario movie has been used as a “straight” “boomer” or even used by conservatives to show how something traditional succeeds

It’s also weird to see 30 year olds arguing with these child characters online

I feel like this was made solely to be bumped later on :bird:

The way it was being called "woke" before it came out only to switch once it smashed :rip:

I missed that part, why was it called woke?

I saw all early summer how conservatives were using it to piss on Buzz lightyear and how having no “woke” agenda makes a movie more successful.

I mean the movie is just following it’s brand and that’s it.

But right wingers twist and rot everything

It was something about Princess Peach being a girlboss and too strong of a female character. :rip:

Then it smashed and they realized that they could leverage it against Disney as a direct comparison. So, they backpedaled and the narrative became "Look at this anti-woke family entertainment succeeding. Disney's done!". :toofunny3:

Doesn't matter because Chris Pratt's Garfield 2024 will outgross both.

But on a serious note, Barbie will definitely outgross.

Some girls really just set themselves up, why?

Mario outcharted Barbie despite the latter being a marketing juggernaut. Barbie is also more local, while Mario has a bigger international fan base.

Congratulations to Barbie but talent won. :clap3:

OP clearly wanted a “hit” thread with Barbie doing $33m last weekend domestically, I’m sure it’ll pass The Super Mario Bros domestic box office within the next two weeks :rip:

Also, please change your avi if you’re going to keep making threads like this :gaycat6:

Even IF Barbie passes Mario the marketing expenses for Barbie was huge and they will definitely make less money than Mario which was an organic success.

At the end Mario still won. :clap3:
