Not looking good for Lula at all. Bolsonaro is performing strongly in key states and exceeding poll expectations

Looks like it will go to R2 with him winning R1

This is a disaster

Probably ending up with 48% Lula vs 42% Bolsanaro

Unless Nordeste really pulls through, I think it will be narrower than that

60% in

Bolsanaro 46%
Lula 45.2%

Probably overtaking Bolsanaro by 75% counted

66% in

Bolsanaro 45.7%
Lula 45.5%

I guess Lula will take over sooner than I thought

70% in

Lula 45.74%

Bolsanaro 45.51%

gaining 0.5% every 10% of the votes counted, while Bolsanaro losing the same

So yes, all is leading to a 47% against 44% outcome and Bolsanaro overperforming (which was kinda predictable)

LOL. As ALWAYS the biggest losers are pollsters.

I think Lula may overtake Bolsonaro, but I don't think he'll be able to win in the first round. There will be a runoff.

But I don't think many people expected polls to be so damn wrong. Some of them gave Lula an advantage of 15 points.

Yeah totally unlikely.

I don't think we've had results this close in the first round since the redemocratization tbh. Crazy.

It just goes to show how deeply divided Brazil is. Bolsonaro and Lula couldn't be more different, and yet Brazil is split almost in the middle between one and the other.

Ugh, conservatives winning all around. It was bad for us. It was really, REALLY bad for us. :skull:

Terrible. Here in my state we managed to elect a tragic senator, give bolsonaro 52% of votes and we'll have a 2nd round between the current governor and bolsonaro's puppet :mazen:

Lula is increasing by larger margin now

Maybe 48% is possible now

Still a 2R will be needed

Very little room for Bolsonaro to gain here. The other candidates are more center/center-left so Lula will snatch the most votes going forward.

The senate is just... over. PACKED with conservatives. 8 whole years of having to deal with all those nasty people. :biblio:

Hate to be that person, but this is already a defeat for us. Even if Lula wins.
