Ewan Chaos Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I think this is a fantastic album and probably my 2nd favorite of theirs... but I was expecting this to be more immediate for some reason? An album like Raven I knew I was going into it expecting it to be a grower record, but I'm kinda surprised this is likely gonna be the same.
kyoshi Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 BMLD RIGHTS! Can't believe bitchfork gave them a 6.3 wtf it must be trolling at this point

Crank_It_Up Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 My favorites off the first listen: Running Out of Time You First Liar Crave Thick Skull What a great album - definitely chose wrong promo singles, I feel like that scared everyone into thinking it wouldn’t be good. Now that This Is Why has peaked on Alternative, I’m genuinely curious to see what’s next! Fingers crossed it’s either ROOT or Crave!
Blankspace2010 Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Omg on You First this is true alternative music. I’m obsessed. C’est Comme Ca is the only one I can’t get into so far. The melodies, the production, the concepts. This is a piece of art.
Johnny Jacobs Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 i didnt like any of the singles but some user here said crave is decode 2.0 so i cant wait to listen also.. not pitch4k giving them 6.3 and their metacritic score is 91
Unreachable101 Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 ‘you first’ and ‘thick skull’ are my standouts on first listen. got my CD/tshirt bundle delivered this morning 😎
no_better Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Am I the only one with Figure 8 on loop After p4k gave Ethel Cain a 6.4 for the aoty that she made I just know I can’t take them seriously most of the time
TrueBlood Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I feel like this record, especially the "muted" sounds it overall has, is heavily inspired by Hayley's solo music. I really like the sound they decided to go for, I just find it at times a little bit repetitive. Great record, tho.
JoeAg Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 i’m so annoyed! i was gonna do Kelela and then this but i fell asleep cuddling with my coworker i’ll do these two tomorrow right after work i guess

Wonderland Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 How is this their first album in 6 years? It has been that long since After Laughter???

Billionaire Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) Figure 8, You First and Crave are my top3 out of the new songs. Might change later though. The acclaim is very much deserved....and I think people who miss the *old* Paramore will really like certain songs on here. I don't hear much of Hayley's solo work except on Liar Either way it's definitely coming for AWKIF as my 3rd favorite album from them (BNE & Self-Titled are just unmatched for me). I don't get how you have these fantastic songs and decide to choose f**king C'est Comme Ca as a single. But anyway. Ranking from first couple listens: You First Figure 8 The News Crave This Is Why Thick Skull Big Man, Little Dignity Running Out Of Time Liar C'est Comme Ca Edited February 10, 2023 by Billionaire
Wrecked Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) I haven’t looked at any posts in here as I’m trying to avoid reviews before I’ve heard the album for myself, but I won’t be able to listen until later today when I’m home from work. I hope everybody is enjoying it and I can’t wait to listen! Edited February 10, 2023 by Wrecked

RT Air Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I’m not even that big of a Paramore fan but I’ve just checked out the album this morning and I have to admit it’s a serve Big Man, Little Dignity and You First are my faves on first listen
