Luckitty Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 the payola is insane, especially considering it's a flop single and they're still payolaing it
John Slayne Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 it's been 6 months already? I thought it came out in June or something

Sweetestsecret Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Playlist can't help when a song is really bad
Selenasworld Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Well if it's attached to Dua Lips name I'm not remotely surprised 800 day record breaking song on TTH

Six months (and three days) later, it still hasn't left Spotify's Today's Top Hits playlist, currently appearing at #37. The song is currently charting in 1 (ONE) country's daily Spotify chart - the United Arab Emirates, at #161. On Dua Lipa's Kworb page, it's her 11th most popular song, right below Break My Heart. Sweetest Pie's achievements after six months include 1 (ONE) single certification - Platinum in Brazil for 20 million streams, including YouTube - and a grand total of 0 (ZERO) top 10 peaks in any country's official singles charts. It has thus far accumulated 194.2 million streams. Congratulations on this important anniversary! Many other songs have been on TTH for 6 months ?
JawBreaker Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 This is why I don't take any numbers from Dua seriously. Sure shes the IT hit making girl for the last 5 years but those streams are extremely inflated. They're not organic at all. Has she ever had a song that became a hit without it being forced and shoved down our throats? Like Olivia, Billie, Ariana even Doja all have had hits that became hits on their own.

How are they inflated. They don't have a gun to ur head forcing u to listen to them people can choose to skip it
Nip Tuck Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 all that and the song still bombed. megan is chart poison confirmed methinks
Billionaire Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 At least the Dua stans aren't saying "wait until it pulls a Levitating11!11" like they did for Love Again & We're Cool
Solaria Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 It shows that Dua has the biggest industry push right now and how much her label believes in her. We know ATRLers are fuming that their faves aren't getting the same support from their labels which is why recent songs have been serving 90-OUT

How are they being forced down ur throat? Is your life being threatened if you don't stream the song? Is you boss firing from your work if you don't give Sweetest Pie a stream? I don't know when the narrative started that label push is a bad thing. In the 2010s it was done through big music videos, performances and interviews. We all know the way it works now is playlisting. Why is that painted as a negative thing?
Erreur2 La Nature Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Not everything is going to turn into a hit. The song and video are both atrocious so I don’t get why Lipa agreed to do it tbh.
Scars Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 A massive bomb. A bit off topic, but I remember some stans on twitter tried to drag Miley to hell and back for "making" Dua flop with Prisoner, only for it to end up being a cute lil' streaming hit bigger than We're Good, which was the actual new single of Future Nostalgia's re-release, Sweetest Pie and that new Calvin Harris collab. Funny, isn't it? Love Dua and Megan though, I was actually rooting for SP to become a hit.
Keeandga Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I’m sure it’s been discussed time & time again that TTH doesn’t make a song a hit, or else Camila would be in a better place than she is now.

Ricky Wilson Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 So yet another Dua Lipa single that gets shoved down out throats and payola’d beyond imagination that never takes off? Shocking!

I blame the internet, because folks were riding hard for that fan-made Levitating remix. We should’ve just left it at that lol. 4 hours ago, Dula Peep said: 4 hours ago, Safe&Sound said: Is it Megan or Dua's cheque there? Megan should have pushed Her instead This collab aint it They didnt click each other Would be better song if Dua did it alone Megan’s. And her label is STOOPID for investing in that track. She could’ve found a better crossover track to carry her album. It’s the reason this whole era has been ****. 3 hours ago, discotitzz said: A sex song called “Sweetest Pie” was doomed to fail from the start This. And the fact the video didn’t even have a sweet/bright aesthetic. Like, sweetie, what is you doing? HUGE missed opportunity.
