What's a mutual aid fund? :deadbanana:

I definitely agree with mutual aid and that some members of the community can have more privilege, but I don't think you can just assume someone is rich because they bought a harness. The way this is worded makes it seem like they're blaming fetish gays who live in a big city for systemic issues.

I do think some (read: SOME) of these girlies with a gofundme don't really exhaust every option before making one, but I think they probably genuinely need the money and if I'm not donating to their fund, it's not really my concern tbh.

Aren't harnesses like not expensive? And you can get tattoos cheap too :skull: Regardless, whining about what other people spend their money on is such loser behavior

This type of rhetoric from the terminally online far-left always curiously slides horseshoe theory into right-wing "stop enjoying your homosexual lifestyle" talking points

This is the brainrot that sets in in countries without socialized health care. Instead of directing the vitriol towards people who are responsible for gay people getting hate crimed and then having to live with 100k medical debt as a result of getting hatecrimed, they direct it towards an easy target: People of their community they are envious of. People whose existence isn't ruined by one unplanned hospital trip (but might be ruined by two consecutive ones).

It's kind of always the same sh*t and this video continues to ring true:

95% of these gofundmes seem so desperate and fake. I would never donate to any of them unless I know you personally. Too many scammers out there. Get a job

Mutual aid funds are money deposits that are used when a community member is in need of monetary help. It's basically a non-professional insurance policy, that is being operated by the community. They are extremely prevelant in the US because they got no social welfare or safety nets whatsoever and the main goal of professional insurance companies is to get out of paying, once an actual accident/something else happens.

An example would be the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a mutual aid fund that provides protestors who were arrested at Black Lives Matters protests bail money to get out of jail.

These people are insufferable and I know it’s reactionary but honestly visibly queer looking people are becoming a group I just flat out try to avoid in public and in friendship

People have forgotten the meaning of work since the pandemic.

A lot of people seriously don’t want to do anything and leech from others.

I agree that we should complain about corruption with wealth inequality but these lazy asses are just parasites.

I'm up for critiquing hilariously dim-witted facets of gay culture, but this isn't it at all :rip:

So annoying when people assume if you live in a big city, you have money. :skull: Quite the opposite.
