It is entirely unsurprising, if disappointing, that the US’s piss-poor COVID response and healthcare system, which charges people exorbitant life-ruining sums for luxuries like “surviving diabetes symptoms” and “existing for any period of time in an emergency room,” has led to a rapid decline in life expectancy. I’ve lost hope that we’ll get our heads out of our collective asses, it’s not going to get much better from here.
