Britney Hold Me Closer? Because it's not an Elton John cover? Because Elton is not on the song? Because Elton didn't just get 3 #1 hits in the UK? Cold Heart doesn't exist? This forum is changing its rules from saying "Thank you *insert man's name* to giving credit to Britney for Elton's song.

Whatever tell yourself so you can sleep better at night...

Is it really that big of a deal? :rip: The song belongs to both of them. Both got a #3. That’s it. Congratulations to both. :clap3:

BBC Radio 1 just announced that Hold Me Closer officially debuts #3 in the UK official chart

Britney Spears has now earned a Top 3 hit in the UK in each of the last four decades (90s, 00s, 10s & 20s).

She becomes the FIRST female artist in history to achieve this.

25 years into her career.

Well it kinda does on this forum. When Moves like Jagger and Savage Remix get mentioned it's always discounted for Xtina and Beyonce because it's a collab here.

The longevity, the legendary top 3 hits it will be joining  :smitten:  My country serving taste for once!

Yeah, both of the songs mentioned were 'remixed' after the original solo songs were released, this is not the case, this is an entirely reworked cover of two classics songs with a new verse originally conceived as a duet, Xtin/a added 30 seconds to a song whilst Bey although elevated the song as she always does, Savage was already was contending for a No. 1 before releasing the remix, it was a quick No. 1 very much so like S&M (Remix).

Completely different situations here mate.

For me personally those are both valid successes for Christina, and Bey, along with their collaborators. Same for Britney and Elton, a win for all involved.

I apologize for my snippy response, but the same type of haters that discredit Bey and Christina will do the same for Britney to take away how well the single did this week so I guess I’m already prepped.

Exactly lol

It's actually hilarious how Xtina fans are now pushing this narrative after spending a whole ass decade bragging about Xtina's 20 seconds on Moves Like Jagger. Britney is a co-lead singer on the song. Since there are no Elton stans on ATRL, they simply added Britney in the headline to trigger you.

Congrats to Britney, Elton and their stans.  Amazing feat for two “old timers”.

Moves Like Jagger is a FEATURE. Britney and Elton have equal credits on Hold Me Closer :dies: There's a reason he said this song is all about her

OT: Top 3 hits in four different decades  Some girls can't even make the Top 100 :clap3:
