The upcoming fifth installment in Leigh Whannell and James Wan's Insidious franchise is undergoing a bit of a facelift ahead of its July 7 release. Originally heading to theaters under the full title of Insidious: Fear the Dark, the film will now draw on one of the most iconic pieces of imagery from the series, donning the new title Insidious: The Red Door.

I didn’t even realize they made a third and fourth movie :deadbanana4:

What timing. I legit barely watched all these films for the first time less than a month ago. :deadbanana4:

I love this series so I’m definitely perched!

Will it be connected to 3 and 4? I never even saw those.

Patrick Wilson makes me swoon. Hope he still stars in movies as well

Maybe 4 considering it’s a prequel to 1 and 2. 3 is kinda the most standalone insidious.

finally an update, I was wondering if this was pushed back. always here for Rose Byrne, even if this franchise is really uneven.

Isn't this the third time it got a new name?

Is queen Lin Shaye on it? :dancehall:

Just rewatched the first one last night, honestly somewhat of a modern classic.

I'm in the rare camp that thinks Insidious is just OK and isn't as scary or thrilling as James Wan's later projects like The Conjuring, its direct sequel, and Malignant.

I actually vastly prefer Insidious: Chapter 3 to the original. The jump scares are the scariest in the franchise (imo), I actually cared about the main character, and it has the best ending of the series. Just overall a solid horror film, and you don't need to have seen the first to enjoy it.

Insidious: Chapter 2 and Insidious: The Last Key are just horrible. Think-the-worst-Paranormal Activity-sequel-level bad.

Since this is Patrick Wilson's first directing effort, I truly hope he knows what he's doing.

I hope this is closer in quality to 3 than 2 or 4. The first was OK.

So this is basically a direct sequel to 1 and 2.
