Scotland Posted August 9, 2022 Share Posted August 9, 2022 In the last few years, GaGa has had big big achievements: #1s on Hot 100 f/ Ariana and Brad - #1 albums - massive grossing movie, ASIB - Oscars - Grammy, and other awards. Big movie deals such as GUCCI, Joker and potentially Bayonetta. All while Beyoncé has had some small projects and no solo #1 since 2008. Gaga regressed as a solo artist with side projects being the saving grace and highlight of the second half of her career, whereas Beyoncé has repeaked time and time again as a solo artist, forever evolving and never regressing nor flopping her own studio albums. Especially when you consider Bey debuted as a solo artist after being the leader of the best selling female group of all time. Like. Gaga was discounting her album for 99 cents less than 3 years into her career. The narrative of her Oscar win being the moment Gaga outpeaked one of the most successful black female artist of all time is just plain microagressions no matter how you twist it and flip it. That Oscar win is literally being used by her fans as a buffer to distract them from facing the reality that is they’re witnessing their fav regress more and more as a solo artist. You can’t pretend to stan these side projects forever when you know you miss the old Gaga deep down at heart. also, Bey has Dreamgirls which was iconic in itself. It doesn’t have to be bigger than ASIB to elevate anything either, she’s still the bigger artist with or without her acting career attached. Until then she can do her corny little acting campfests like American Horror Story and House of Hucci. At least Bradley managed to direct her well and reign the cringe in #ThankYouBradley. Sorry but comparing her to the likes of Gaga is already a compliment to Beyonce, that shows the longevity and power she still holds. Both icons anyway. As you mentioned Gaga achieved all these things #1 albums #1 singles WW stadium sold out tour, 3 huge movies , Oscars Grammys and etc. Bey only managed to get a #1 song ( Gaga had 2 #1 singles recently) and a #1 album ( Gaga had 2 #1 albums) and possibly win Grammys. Gaga achieved all these and had her impressive acting career, + 2 successful albums so no, Gaga is still ahead of Bey.
