Well, I would say it was pretty engaging. Liked the first episode, so I'm definitely waiting for the next ones. Abel's a freak.

There's a good show in there but unfortunately it's buried under this forced romance storyline. I loved everything involving Jocelyn's management but I don't buy her instant infatuation with Abel's character.... It doesn't help that he sucks as an actor lol

 

I hope the final twist will be that Jocelyn's music/artistry was always trash regardless of Abel's intervention. I believe there was already hints of that with how she was talking about her music but we'll see

it was okay, little boring, def not worth of that terrible score, I love the music industry setting and how  it managed to convey that feeling of everyone being fake, just in it for the money but pretending to care about Jocelyn, we will see how it goes from there

Yeah. It was way too p*rnographic at some points. What's funny is that if you have a director with talent/vision you can be provocative and salacious without making pure snuff, but Sam just doesn't have that talent.

This show is MUCH more expensive than Euphoria season 1 though. This likely isn't going to grow each week either

Zendaya is expensive as well, and they shot Euphoria on film which is also incredibly expensive. Also the reason S2 took as long as it did. But if they shot this on film (I couldn't really tell) and are giving The Weeknd a lot of money then yes the profits they will see from this won't be as rewarding. But for a 2023 show it's ratings are a good number, especially if we're comparing it to Euphoria 2019 when live viewers on average were higher than today. 

 

I do agree that this probably won't have much legs, but I also never expected Euphoria to blow up the way it did either so we'll see. I'll probably only tune in for two more episodes to see if it gets any better.

Yeah just as I expected, nowhere near as bad as the media made out to be  I don't think Abel's acting was bad as well, especially for a non actor. Overall nice first episode, definitely got my attention

 

Loved that first half with the team dealing with the leak, very entertaining. Pacing in the second half drags a little tho.

 

Sam might not be the best writer but everything he shoots looks so good.

Yes Abel acting is not perfect I agree... but is he looking nasty but that was the purpouse of his character to make him look disgusting

This would need to get really impressive on demand streams for there to be a second season. While Euphoria got similar ratings in its first season, it was also acclaimed and ended up winning an Emmy. HBO usually renews smash hits or acclaimed shows with middling ratings. They rarely keep stuff that does badly in both aspects

those are just the linear tv numbers, right? it's really only the max streaming numbers that matter here in terms of renewal.
