Relampago. Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 I truly think Abel is hot, he’s not like Henry Cavill or Michael B Jordan, but the man is objectively attractive even if he’s not your type 1
EmailMySwift Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 The Pilot was bad but there was barely any sex in it
Pop Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 I wanted to love this but the pilot was so boring and empty. This should should have been way more fun.

Margaux Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 why did the critics said this was gross. the cum picture wasn't even that graphic, it reminds me of a Miley Cyrus album cover. I-
SchmoodRing Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 the way that this is trying to be oh so progressive with its commentary when the content itself is what the issue is with society Dx this being "loosely britney spears esque" is also gross. she was literally exploited and abused essentially for profit but sam and co thought let's make this into a tv show??? Dx thank god britney is not on the soundtrack not lily showing more nudity than having lines yikes at y'all being so desensitized to sam's trauma porn style of filming that y'all are disappointed at how "overblown and tame" this was unfortunately this actually had the potential because their is an interesting story to be told but the way that they're going about it is not. if this would've played straight forward like her being plucked from obscurity then groomed into her debut, her transition good to bad girl era, the rise, peak then fall, comeback and cemented legacy could've been covered in 3 seasons and actually been something worthwhile this is something that looks good to cover up the fact that it's not as deep as it's making itself out to be the way that the weeknd is essentially playing himself and yet is so bad at it is sending me 16 minutes ago, Margaux said: why did the critics said this was gross. the cum picture wasn't even that graphic, it reminds me of a Miley Cyrus album cover. I- because it literally is. we're literally watching the relationship between a predator and a popstar be romanticized through the eyes of the straight male gaze. you shouldn't be so comfortable ...

James_Dean Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 I for one found it to be very entertaining till Abel showed up... then it took a nose dive straight to ground zero

antoine_ Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 It starts very promising, the cinematography and the acting (aside Abel who appeared for like 15 minutes tops) are great. The story needs time to develop. The hate campaign is just ridiculous.
SweetTalker Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 The pilot was absolute trash all around. Script was dumb, pretentious, and just so badly written overall. Editing had very interesting choices. The acting from most characters I was rooting for this as an Abel fan but
Innocencelost Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 How did this get greenlit into production it’s a whole damn mess

Hope that this gives her more opportunities for her in the long run. Jennie is showing promise. Abel should never act ever again. 5 hours ago, James_Dean said: I for one found it to be very entertaining till Abel showed up... then it took a nose dive straight to ground zero Yeah this just proves that him and Sam taking over to making this a love story to feature Abel’s character more is such a misstep. A female led story as specific as this should be driven my women behind the scenes too from the directors and writers etc. You can literally see how it became something else once Sam and Abel took creative control. 4 hours ago, Margaux said: you just described hollywood in a nutshell. it’s not butterflies and rainbows. it isn’t exactly forgiving to women too. Understood but theirs a way to go about this while both exposing the truth and still telling a story with integrity and worthwhile.
Beyonnaise Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) Ok I actually didn’t hate this but the shift in the middle of the episode was so jarring. I liked the beginning with Jocelyn’s team trading “provocative” dumb insights as she’s doing a topless photoshoot and living the ultimate early 2000s pop hoe fantasy. But then Abel enters at the club and the script goes off the rails into absurdity, and he can’t act at all. It makes me want them to really lean in to the Showgirls-esque campness and ridiculousness instead of pretending they’re actually unraveling some dark truth about stardom which we’ve seen a million times. I find Lily Rose to be decent but she’s a bit of a charisma vacuum so it feels very far-fetched that Jocelyn would be a massive star especially during the TikTok “relatability” era, but I found that kind of refreshing? Like it’s what a straight man like Sam Levinson thinks passes as a popstar in 2023 but would never actually be, as if Addison Rae was actually a chart topper. Nonetheless, I am perched if they keep the idiocy up. Edited June 7, 2023 by Beyonnaise

Yeah I audibly burst out laughing at the scene of him showing up at her driveway.
