the idols/subunits debuting 3rd gen =/= the actual group that debuted august 2018, after someone like G-Idle who's on the list, being 3rd gen. even if you disagree everyone classifies loona as 4th gen, makes no sense to not have them here. viviz is 4th gen as well, it doesn't matter if the idols debuted before, the group debuted 2022.

Generations usually go by idol debut date, though. For example, SNSD's subunit TTS is not considered 2.5 gen. Oh!GG also isn't considered 3rd gen. Idols are divided by generation based on their ages and debut dates. We'll see a lot of the Kep1er and CLASS:y girls in 4th gen groups even after 5th gen starts because they're already idols debuted in the 4th gen.

One more ITZY or Aespa release and they'll finally be dethroned. It's crazy how they ruled as #1 but they'll be out of the top 5 (for overall units) in 2024 and maybe miss the top 10 altogether. Gen 4 is so huge

omg thank you so much legend  I'm actually pleasantly surprised that they stack up well compared to a lot of the girl groups on the list (at least streaming wise). I hope their sales keep increasing until they one day hit 100k for a new alburm or EP or w/e
