He needs to step aside. I abhor Trump and think the GOP is on the level of the Nazis, and yet I can still admit his presidency has been abysmal.

His demeanor and middle road approach isn’t what works in 2022, especially when we’re on the brink of what is realistically a complete fascist takeover of this country in the next few years if things continue on their current trajectory.

And no, Kamala and Pete Buttigieg are *not* the answer here.

We need fresh blood and ideas in politics, period.

Step aside. He’s an ineffective president and his only strategy has been to make no waves and just sit back and do nothing.

Drop dead, segregationist

It'd be pointless for him to step aside just for Dems to then run the essence of him that just so now inhabits the bodies of a black woman who locked up black women and a gay man who thinks inflated bread prices are good.

He should get a progressive primary challenger who's willing to take the Dems down if they continue this path.

We will have a republican President if Biden runs for re-election

Just pray he makes it to the end of his term, which isn't until 2025.

Democrats need quickly to come up with a new star to win people back in time for next election or else you're gonna end up with a republican president (probably Trump), republican senate, republican house, and 9 conservative justices by the time they are done.

will he make it?

He shouldn't but I'm not sure who else could run in his place. Not feeling any of the "prominent" Democrats at the moment. I'm actually kinda more interested in how the Republican field is gonna play out because I believe it's gonna get messy!

Democrats are doomed come November and 2024 :gaycat6:

I think he should break records & be the first to just give up NOW

he needs to be checked into an assisted living facility where he belongs ASAP

What dems need at this moment is the next OBAMA. I lowkey feel bad for Joe. At this age, he should be enjoying his life with his grandkids and living with family and he is wasting his time in politics.

I honestly and unironically believe that he, Kamala, and Nancy need to exit stage right immediately. No more, no thanks, get some people who care about making life better for their constituents on the ballot.

There’s literally no chance that he’s gonna win in 2024. He’s been an utter disaster and he’s better off bowing out.

I don't think it will matter who replaces him since the damage he and the Democratic party as a whole has done to destroy the actual left and allow the right to takeover will make a Republican 2024 sweep unavoidable. That said, he should step down so we don't have to deal with this much embarrassment any longer.

There's also no actual left rising politician that can challenge him either.

I would say he should step aside, but I honestly don’t know who could replace him who would have a chance of beating Trump or DeSantis (not that he would either.)

Nonetheless get some new blood in there. The entire party leadership needs to go tbh, and the party needs an overhaul.

Like I really thought he was going to win, serve a year or maybe 2 and then step aside for Kamala (who I know isn't any better). But the fact that he's dead set on running again in 2024 at his old age :deadbanana4:

I really don't understand how he's even considering running again. When your poll numbers are worse than Trump and you don't have a loyal base like Trump does... What does he think is going to happen? He should just accept a legacy of being a one-term president rather than suffering an embarrassing defeat like Jimmy Carter. Being the "not-Trump" candidate isn't going to work if 1. Trump doesn't run, or 2. Trump does run yet the country is in a worse condition than Trump left it. Joe ain't doing ****.

I think AOC could actually be a good candidate to unite the democrats. She’s young, smart, well spoken, and not afraid to challenge anyone. She’ll meet the age requirement in 2024.

She’s already extremely well known and favored with the younger generations.

AOC would be fun if she’s allowed :gaycat5:

Republicans will scaremonger the middle into oblivion. She'll carry fewer states than Hillary

Meh I think in the world of tik tok and what not it’s not the same world. If she can capture the youth and encourage them to vote (many of which still don’t) then she has a shot. Many youth don’t feel encouraged to vote for candidates they don’t like that are 70+ years old.

It depends on where the country stands and where his health is. If things are better by next summer, I think he should run. If not, he should step aside.

Sadly, that is probably what they would/will do

It really would be an ideal time (like 7 years ago) for them to get onboard with progressives but I fear they'll go with another centrist/neolib
