Don't worry gays - when they do take your rights away, your President will make a comforting speech to let you know that he is standing with you and that you have his thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

It all seems like they were planning this for a long time and they're just getting started. Gilead wasn't fiction after all... really sad times

Yes, and ask you to donate money otherwise they can't fight against the bad guys!

Abortion has been a hot topic for ages. I dont see the republicans overthrowing gay marriage. I wouldnt be surprised byt lgbt has a lot of money and power now. Republicans have started to pander to lgbt for votes and money.

I do see them not passing gay civil rights though. Allowing companies to fire you for being gay and stuff like that.

Russia just started war on Ukraine that led to 15k deaths and counting. A virus broke down in 2020 and damaged the economy.

Aborting just got outlawed.

And more. Anything can happen.

You’re totally wrong. Abortion also has more support than gay marriage. We already know how this court is going to rule. They’re on the record. Gay marriage is toast.

Keep in mind, this isn’t a popularity contest. This court doesn’t care what the majority wants. They believe everything is up to the states and were hand picked by the Heritage Foundation. They made it clear that abortion and gay marriage were going and they’re following through.

do married gay/lesbian couples have to continue to reside in states where gay marriage is legal in order to reap the financial benefits?  Like if i married in California but lived in Florida would all our rights be stripped?  I think the answer is probably yes but I'm not exactly sure.

Reversing same-sex marriage will

open a complicated legal can of worms for the SCOTUS. I think in the case of Roe, it was easier to do becuase it didn't have as many legal ramifications. But then again this court is Handmaid's Tale level nuts and they will do anything they want as long as it fits their agenda. They don't care about reasoning. Hopefully same-sex marriage stays put for the sake of America.

Can we stop with this “homophobes are secretly gay” argument for everyone? :rip:

Agreed. It’s tired and not helpful. Just gives the impression straights aren’t responsible for homophobia.

Girl, it’s very possible.

It won’t be banned, it will just go back to the states, like abortion. The U.S. is so weird for relying on the judiciary to make and unmake laws, especially of such significance and not the legislature.
