Glad to see the hive hasn't changed. Endless excuses.

24 years means she has an established fanbase. She's literally one of the biggest names in music. Her albums have all been on sootify for over 3 years.

You didn't quote a single Hive there.

Gustav is not Hive, he's a member with sense.

Yes just for 3 years and none were there when an Era was actually happening.

"24 years means she has an established fanbase." Well yeah. And 50 years means you have an even bigger established fan base, that's why all singers with 24 and 50 years do better than when they had 2-5 years in the business.

The truth is these are impressive numbers for a person who debuted during the pre-digital era. She's done better than expected and there's nothing to drag here. Accepting that and moving on would be better than setting your fave (who debuted in the digital era, has the shorter career span, and did less numbers with more to her advantage) up to get lashed.

Please. The only excuse that works here is that Bey is clearly not a huge streaming act. That's it.

Is she relevant or is she not?

This website went from "Beyonce will **** up the world" to "these are impressive numbers for a person who debuted during the pre-digital era" in the span of 24 hours:eatpopcorn:

She's not even outstreaming Kate Bush who debuted in the pre-CD era:deadbanana2:

Imagine spending this much time and energy on a woman you claim to not like. So many miserable individuals above. Free yourself - exit left

Why would she be a huge streaming force when she debuted 25 years ago? A whole two decades before the streaming era? And I haven't seen her stans claim she's some big streaming giant. And even then these are still solid numbers, I don't see what there is to drag.

He's the biggest male star right now. Of course, he would have done great numbers. It peaked at #28, which is decent for a dance-pop song.

No, it literally has the same placing in the U.S and most other countries. You do realize that Spotify continues to grow every year, right? SL was released in early 2020.

It peaked at #28 after the album release in May. Its initial peak following the Shot on iPhone campaign was #49. For comparison, Selena's LYTLM had a similar sponsorship but had no issue going top 3 like BMH. :deadbanana4: Not to mention it also had NMF support and a TTH cover. These excuses are comical, especially when BMH leaked hours prior to the release as well.

There’s no excuses. She performed better than anyone expected considering that most of ATRL said she was over. It’s ok though y’all go ahead and keep on with that narrative. Release the stress beloved.

If anyone is making excuses it’s a lot of you on this thread as to why she did better than expected. :deadbanana4:

So Kate Bush (pre-CD) and Beyoncé (pre-digital) both outdid Gaga coming off a repeak era, what does that say?

Well she's clearly relevant as she just debuted with 5M on Spotify with a new song.

You're trying too hard.

If she's a flop for you then good, we are content with those numbers.

Drake, THE streaming juggernaut, released his lead single with a video and did 7M first day, Friday. Bey has done 5M without a video and around 20hours, trust me, we're good.

You have the right to consider B a flop though, it's your prerogative.

Her discography is from 19 years ago so let's stop with that 24 years bullshit.

Streaming came into being during her peak. Her peers Rihanna (17) and Taylor Swift (16) do miles better. So she's not a huge streaming force. That's it.

Not when they had the same placements. You are not seriously comparing streaming numbers that are two years apart, right?

Closure to what exactly?  What has come to a close?

OT: Top 2 and never #1, I guess we're the lyrics tidy should have used.

Why not? I've seen the little monsters compare this song to 7 Rings and ME! which were also released two years ago? So in other words those comparisons are fine and dandy but when it comes to Gaga exceptions must be made?

This thread… holy god. Any normal person would expect Bey to debut with these numbers. As always, OBH will make it seem like these are bad numbers and the Hive will make excuses as to why this wasn’t the mega smash they like to pretend Beyoncé’s hype commands in 2022.

Those are really good numbers :clap3:20+ years into her career, a Tuesday release and still no music video, which will most probably help the song rise a little more and then stabilise

Whatever you're dealing with or the back and forth here, I don't know, pick. It's an expression.

Expressions are suppose to make sense in the context of the conversation.

No one cares what you've seen. Such comparisons are dumb.

The number of premium subscribers has grown from 130 million in Q1 2020 to 182 million in Q1 2022.

Active monthly users: Q1 2020: 286 million Q1 2022: 418 million (+46%)
