Beyoncé “needed” a vogue cover, a big “comeback” announcement, and double the Spotify user base to pull these numbers. + bms  only leaked a handful of hours before release. There were only 280 million active Spotify users when Stupid Love dropped, there are now more than 420 million Spotify users. Beyoncé's comeback pulling roughly the same numbers as a song from 2.5 years ago

25 years and Beyoncé is still here. Not only are these incredible numbers, the video hasn’t even dropped. She hasn’t even performed the song. This is without a doubt my song of the summer - infectious from start to finish! This will be an ERA!

It's important to take into account the # of active Spotify users.

 

I also don't understand why some people are claiming having a MV helped Gaga on Spotify. Wouldn't it be the opposite? I know I prefer to watch music videos if available rather than just listen to the songs on Spotify (unless I'm busy doing something else).

Not people saying about SL promo outside of Spotify :rip: The main thing for Spotify streams is TTH and Stupid Love never had a #1 placement unlike BMS. 
 

OT: tragic streams for #1 TTH song and all of this hype
