How the **** were y’all thirsting over Ghost for months :rip:

i've been so hyped for it because of y'all but it's not even top 10 :rip:

the best 10/10 songs are:

  • Million Dollar Baby
  • Maybe You're The Problem
  • Diamonds & Dancefloors
  • Get Outta My Heart
  • Cold As Ice
  • Dancing's Done

The worst one is easily One Of Us, but Ghost and Last Night on Earth didn't hit as hard as the rest of the album as well.

A huge upgrade from already amazing Heaven & Hell. The Kick of 2023 :clap3:

I'm just shocked at how bland she is. The lack of any personality and warmth in her voice is really ruining those amazing instrumentals which is a shame.

I guess that's the reason why she's not going anywhere without personality, but...

at least she giving us cute bops before getting forgotten by the end of the decade.  :clap3:

My ranking for now:

1. Million Dollar Baby

2. Dancing's Done

3. Cold As Ice

4. Get Outta My Heart

5. Maybe You're The Problem

6. Dancefloors & Diamonds

7. Sleepwalker

8. Hold Up (Wait a Minute)

9. Weapons

10. Turn Off the Lights

11. Ghost

12. In The Dark

13. Last Night on Earth

14. One of Us

I must say, I definitely appreciate the album more now that I’ve heard it in hq. I definitely jumped the gun by judging it based on the lq leak. A solid 7/10 album, though I personally prefer H&H, just because it felt like it had more personality to me. While most of these songs are enjoyable, they are still kind of generic.

My ranking:

1. Last Night On Earth

2. MYTP

3. D&D

4. Sleepwalker

5. Dancing’s Done

6. Hold Up

7. Million Dollar Baby

8. In the Dark

9. Cold As Ice

10. Get Outta My Heart

11. Ghost

12. TOTL

13. Weapons

14. One of Us

Does anyone know the real reason why The Motto was left off the album? Wouldn't that have made it sell/stream more if it were included?

I have to say I'm trying to find a place for it on my own track listing for Diamonds & Dancefloors, and sonically it doesn't really fit with her other songs because her voice is so vocoded in it, so I put it at the end of my track listing right after Wild Thing, Emotions and Everytime I Cry (which does fit on this album).

My trinity is Ghost, In the Dark and Last Night on Earth, all of them are perfect.

I love the entire album but can't get into Dancing's Done (way too dated and sounds too much of a old Gaga tribute), Cold As Ice (i don't like the melodies and sounds something that could've been on Katy's Smile) and One of Us (i love the verses but i truly hate the chorus, it annoys me). Maybe they will be growers for me

As of the rest i totally love it. It doesn't bring anything new to the table or represents any kind of growth to her career but i don't think anyone is streaming Ava Max expecting to hear anything other than some writing camp-penned dance-pop bops, and she delivers at that  :bird:

If I were her team, the singles would have gone like this:

1. The Motto (should have been put on the album)

2. Get Outta My Heart

3. Sleepwalker

4. Dancing's Done

What they did and should do to course correct:
1. Maybe You're The Problem - April (lead single with album announcement and barely any push)
2. Million Dollar Baby - September (song thrown out to rot)
silence

ALBUM DELAY AND LEAK - October
3. Weapons - November (song thrown out to rot without a video)
4. Dancing's Done - December (song released with visualizer)

SNIPPETS
5. One of Us - January (song released without visualizer)
ALBUM RELEASE - January (Ghost pushed on playlists without visualizer, One of Us visualizer released)
Ghost? - not sent to radio but pushed on playlists
Sleepwalker? - has filmed music video

6. Ghost - push the song immediately in Europe and promote it with tour, try the hardest to make it a hit, film a music video and release it in March/April
Release all full length album visualizers
Cold As Ice - try to promote it on TikTok somehow in hopes of it maybe latching on as time goes on

7. Sleepwalker - postpone the current video and wait for Ghost to finish its run, release the video in June or July and push it on radio
DELUXE - September or October
NOTE: (Ghost and Sleepwalker are also interchangeable, they just need to choose one and stick with it)

What they should have done:
1. Sleepwalker - May (lead single with huge push and video)
2. Million Dollar Baby - August (with album announcement and preorder, actually push the song not throw it out)

Dancing's Done - September (promo song with visualizer and tracklist reveal)
3. Ghost - October (album release single with a big video)
ALBUM RELEASE - October (initial release date)
4. Cold As Ice - December (tour announcement with a cute visualizer)
5. Get Outta My Heart - February (throw it out there and see what happens, release a video as well)

I know this is a thread to discuss the album but genuinely I'm curious why some users that don't listen to Ava to begin with are coming in here to share their single sentence two cents opinions on how the album is bad. Please, save it! I promise you we don't care and are enjoying the album regardless!  :coffee:

Yeah, exactly what i'm thinking too. I like how cohesive the whole thing is and there's almost no filler.

I think GOOMH is still my fave :smitten:
