That's a very good point you are making. Spotify being ageist and refusing to add the literal #1 Global song to TTH makes zero sense to me. Warner time for a paycheck.

So it’s No.1 may not actually be for its biggest streaming week. For the record, the Kate Bush classic has 771,568 sales post-1994, and 165,762 this year alone (the latter figure apparently includes one picture disc vinyl edition from Record Store Day 2013 that was finally shifted to a fan last week).

This week would be the first decline week of overall consumption for RUTH and I fear Kate may go back to ACR again just before the Stranger Things finale if RUTH continue to decline for next 2 consecutive weeks judging from RUTH Spotify UK numbers keep going down for the past few days.

It took Hold My Hand WEEKS to get added, yet songs like Joji's Glimpse of Us gets added immediately.

This makes me think, RUTH is never going on TTH because it's an old song.

The way that radio is catching on, I think it will help the streams level out as other audiences are exposed to the song.

If it wasn’t added this or last week I doubt it will ever be unfortunately.

 

As long as it stabilises in the Top 10 until the finale and while radio grows I think it’s fine.
