About 5 episodes into season 4 and is it just me or has the show gotten sillier? The episode where

Season 4 is pure camp. Season 5 is much better than s4

Leading Actress

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) 10/10

Cruel Intentions (1998) 10/10

Simply Irresistible (1999) 8/10 (she was cute in it)

Harvard Man (2001) 6/10 (I forgot about it but it was bad)

The Grudge (2004) 9/10

The Return (2006) 8/10

Suburban Girl (2007) 9/10

Possession (2009] 8/10

Veronika Decides To Die (2009) 10/10 (one of her best drama performance imo)

Supporting Actress:

High Stakes (1989) 6/10

Scream 2 (1997) 9/10 (too bad she had to die but she was iconic)

Scooby Doo (2002) 10/10

Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed (2004) 10/10

Southland Tales (2006) 5/10 (never understood what got her interested in this project)

The Air I Breathe (2007) 8/10

Do Revenge (2022) 9/10

Small Cameos:

She's All That (1999) 5/10

The Grudge 2 (2006) 5/10 (useless use of her talent)

Clerks III (2022) 2/10 (3 seconds of nothing)

Memorable mentions:

Small Soldiers (Voice) [1998]

Happily N' Ever After (Voice) [2007]

TMNT (Voice) [2007]

those are mostly based on her performance than the movies themselves tbh

Does this show stand the test of time? Is it worth watching in 2023 or did it get outdated?

It is outdated in the sense that it's a 90s / early 00s time capsule but the topics addressed are very much current and applicable to today's climate, also, the acting is classic and timeless.

Depends on how much cheap effects and occasionally goofy-looking monsters might bother you, because in all other areas it's not dated at all and actually feels as forward thinking and sharply written now as it did 25 years ago. Just keep in mind the general consensus is that it starts being GREAT about halfway through S2, before that the quality is pretty uneven with the first season especially having several bad filler episodes

Then she gave us that dog crap show The Crazy Ones

Honestly every time I think about this show I just imagine how haunting it must've been to star alongside Robin Williams in what would become his last project before he took his life :mazen:

he was the reason why she took time out of acting afterwards, she considered him as a Father Figure and he was so nice to her all the time, making sure she could leave set on time for her children and also whenever her son needed her, he made sure she could get back to her trailer to take care of him.

She was heartbroken when the show got canned and was completely crushed when Robin committed suicide...

the show gets hate but tbh it was good, it searched itself but found its balance halfway through

As @SinnerCity stated, it is a bit dated in its look and some of how things are written, especially in the first and second seasons. But, overall, it stands the test of time. It truly does. Even reactors reacting to it are hooked and are drawn into the emotion of the show, which shows, to me, it is worth watching in 2023!

i think the only parts that are dated is Xander's character and the use of technology in season 1

and yeah what everyone said plus this shows is one of those type of shows that creates such an immersive and expansive universe and has such good lore that its worth the watch alone for that. like the slayer concept and the show's take on vampires and other spooky/mystical stuff is amazing

I used to have a special place in my heart for Xander but after Nicholas problematic behaviour I really can't enjoy that character that much with the exception of S06E22.

I separate actor from character, because, if that were the case, I'd never enjoy Buffy because he-who-should-not-be-named. Plus, I believe the ending of Buffy really made his issues come to light.

Haven’t watched all of her projects so I can’t rank them but I’ve had Harvard Man on dvd for like 15 years and it’s the worst film I’ve ever seen so that deserves nothing higher than a -10/10

True, I appreciate Xander for what he was, as much of a douchbag he was, he also was fundamental for the show's success. I'm still somehow heartbroken he-who-should-not-be-named ended un being such an abuser, I always thought he was genuine feminist. Oh well, I guess you never know with anybody really.

Xander's speech to Dawn in Potential is one of his best moments imo
