Chloë is not afraid to release, why?

Allthough Chloë's 2 singles haven't been mega hits, she is still carving out a nice lane for herself and is on her way to release her first studio album. She has a vision and is not afraid to release, even if it means underperforming numbers.

Then.... there are some of her peers who skate by on 1 release per year, with no album in sight. Why is Chloë's vision coming together for her, and not for others? :coffee:

Let’s first see a pre-order before making assumptions lol

Let’s also not forget that there was 6+ months between Have Mercy and Treat Me :skull:

The expectations from her aren't that high and hyped no shade..

However some artists were invested alot of money and were backed up by celebrities and such.

She is coached by Beyoncé and seen as her protégé. She definitely has expectations to live up to :coffee2:

There were 6 months because she was out actually promoting her **** until it died as she should. It’s not like she released it and dipped for 6 months. Homegirl was always booked and busy.

Because her talent speaks for itself, no need for commercial success :clap3:

So excited for her album.

Let’s see if she does manage to put an album out soon…

I highly doubt that they’d let her drop with no hit

It’s hardly up to Chloe and whether she’s scared or brave enough. It’s what the label wants. Do you think she can really be that influential over her and own career. :rip:

Kinda.  Beyonce has cultivated an environment that supports “art not charts” for them though.  Which is amazing.

Chloe gets to benefit from the association, without pressure to perform well on the charts.

Honestly, some other girls would benefit from being in an environment like that.

maybe one of the reasons is that she doesn't need a writing camp for her songs :celestial2:

Chloe x Halle have dropped two albums without a hit. Even "Do It" becoming a cute hit for them happened after the parent album had been announced, given a date and posted a pre-order. They promoted the song and the album at the same time. She's dropping the album, doing predictably low numbers at first and then hustling for longevity and word of mouth

And this specifically is how you build a steady fanbase. Almost definitely if you're in the R&B lane. Stay true, stay honest.. and if the music is good enough people will talk about it and keep you afloat until you carve out your own lane and start smashing. Exactly what happened with Summer Walker.

The more you chase for a hit, the less genuine you come off as and the interest begins to lack. You just get shallow pop stans who parade about how "underrated" said artist is on Twitter but don't actually support them.

New girls like Ava and Chloe aren't afraid to release in the middle of pandemics and world wars.

They write for art not charts.

To answer your question without mentioning anyone else, Chloe is a creative at her core. She wasn't entered in a nationally televised talent show and expected to WIN like others. She creates songs every single day and wants people to hear it. It's like a sculptor or painter entering their work in a show or trying to get an exhibit. There may be some nervousness, but no pressure to showcase what she does naturally.

She would release and be an artist even without a deal. In fact, she's getting used to the business side of it and doesn't understand why she can't "just release".

Because she wants to be an artist. She’s a hard worker and knows success won’t come by itself, or being backed by other famous people. She is passionate about this. Doesn’t let internet hype lie to her… this is what she loves. I need an album ASAP.  She’s so ******* talented and you can always see the hunger in her eyes. I love people who have that in them.

They did it for CxH and charted in the 150s for their first album. The formula for Chloe is not the exact same as other artists. Seems like they're confident that Chloe can at least chart on the hot 100 twice with or without major promo. She's gotten good reception from the Fivio collab and we will see if Parkwood/Columbia thinks the 6lack snippets have generated enough buzz.

A lot of labels release hitless quality albums if the budget isn't too big

Normani on the contrary is already too expensive without bringing any money.

Cardi's already spent a lot of budget.  I think they are not sure about the quality of the project so the label and her are afraid that only the singles will be heard if it's not critically acclaimed.

Chloe is definitely ready to drop, but she like many other artist have to wait to receive the ok do so. She recently said in a interview she’s hoping her album comes before the Grammy eligible period ends which tells me that Columbia still hasn’t green lit her album that’s basically finished.

Also, let’s not kid ourselves. Chloe the solo artist is not being marketed like CxH. It’s clear a more mainstream sound is what they are going for and I believe Columbia sees Chloe as being the girl to fill in the vacant space for a Gen Z Black pop star. Making the label butt into her creative process more than would with the duo. It’s no secret Chloe has been going back and forth with Columbia over her releases. She said so. Columbia has been blocking features for her that would’ve benefited her during that long gap between HM and TM. They public response to TM probably has them concerned about what to do next which is why she previewed those songs.

Haven't heard someone being so hyped like Normani.

They basically said she's the next Beyoncé :deadbanana4:
