And this specifically is how you build a steady fanbase. Almost definitely if you're in the R&B lane. Stay true, stay honest.. and if the music is good enough people will talk about it and keep you afloat until you carve out your own lane and start smashing. Exactly what happened with Summer Walker.

The more you chase for a hit, the less genuine you come off as and the interest begins to lack. You just get shallow pop stans who parade about how "underrated" said artist is on Twitter but don't actually support them.

:clap3:

Keyshia Cole, Chrisette Michelle, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox or Jhene Aiko released their debut album with zero hits.

You’re making it sound like her album has a date. Both have released two singles with huge gap inbetween both releases.

Where’s the album honey?

To answer your question without mentioning anyone else, Chloe is a creative at her core. She wasn't entered in a nationally televised talent show and expected to WIN like others. She creates songs every single day and wants people to hear it. It's like a sculptor or painter entering their work in a show or trying to get an exhibit. There may be some nervousness, but no pressure to showcase what she does naturally.

She would release and be an artist even without a deal. In fact, she's getting used to the business side of it and doesn't understand why she can't "just release".

In all honesty, this is it. Chloe did not grow in the industry with a mindset of needing to win all the time. Like someone else mentioned, she grew in a different enviroment that was provided by Bey - and honestly, that's really good for her. Now that she's going mainstream she's starting to feel more of a need to "understand" the sides of the business. But still, she's very okay with the pace everything is going. Unlike the other person the OP is probably comparing her to.

She has the support of Beyoncé for one

I was going to say. Chloe x Halle are basically something she's been invested personally and believes in

She can write and produce her own music. Plus she is actually in love with it and not just chasing a hit like her less talented peer Normani who is a label puppet.:celestial2:

Because she gets support of her label and she's actually ambitious so she works to get what she wants, which I don't think is the case with others.

I'm pretty sure her album will be out this year.
