single Kelly Clarkson - "Happier Than Ever"

Kelly just demonstrated how this song would sound like if it was originally written for her——which is really hard to do especially when the original is someone as unique as billie.

So I see these two versions as two complete different songs and I love them both. it’s amazing how they showcase the different prospectives from a 20 year old and a 40 year old.

The verses in the first 2 mins (i.e. the boring part of the song): Kelly >> Billie

 

The final 2 mins (chorus, climax, crescendo): Both were equal

 

 

I'm a KC fan, so I am biased, but Kelly's covers of 21st century songs tend to be a lot better than those sung by the original singers (looking at you, Princess of China). The radio edit of the original Billie version is hella amazing, and I am glad that Kelly is able to match that.

This is just fantastic. Rock suits Kelly so good, I would die for another "My December" from her 

 

I love Billie's version too, I can't really compare them.

Not sure if I like it more than the original. I think they fill different listening needs, so I think I might call them equally EXCELLENT.
