The red flags this post has gurl. People really are scared of artists actually being woke, that's why her and Zara get so much bullsh1t online just cause rightist fear them.

The girlboss songs on Ancient Dreams were the best though! Not because they were like... quality lyrics (I stan her but I'm not listening to Marina for quality lyrics nn) but because they were camp. Well maybe besides New America.

OT: Good for her! I'd love more music closer to the vein of FROOT and TFJ, but as long as she's happy she can do whatever she wants.

oh so its only gonna get worse :skull:

As a fan i actually think this could be a bad move. Don’t get me wrong, i know there’s been issues in the past - what professional relationships wouldn’t have them? But on the whole, you can’t say Atlantic hasn’t been supportive of her and given far more freedom than other artists ever have. For me, i think Marina needs people to challenge her at times and tbqh the whole going indie just seems like an excuse to write some cringe #girlboss lyrics

All these smaller girls looking to go indie and the only one i trust is Tove Lo.

This is what worries me about this. I think Marina's biggest flaw as an artist is her inability to have her ideas challenged and if she goes full indie idk how it's going to go :monkey: Her unreleased stuff and mermaid vs sailor is still insanely good but will she be able to replicate this quality nowadays?

i loved ADIAML so looking forward to seeing what’s next from her :clap3:although im kinda surprised she’s leaving, it seemed that Atlantic gave her full creative control whilst giving her a decent budget for visuals/performances

If her label let her release ADIAML and the highly conflicting amongst fans L +F (tho I love most of that album) then I just don’t see how y’all are saying her going Indie will help her make “better” (more pop gay friendly) music :rip:

This.

She’s sucked hard since Froot. Who cares what she does. It will be more trash, only bomb twice as hard (if that’s even possible).

now bring back the concept of Die Life, rework and release Miss Y, Scab and Plaster, and we would have an AOTY right there

I HATE YOU MARINA I REALLY DO

It must be a scary and at the same time liberating feeling for an artist like her to be free from contract obligations after so many years. Hopefully everything will work for her, but I have to admit I'm not entirely confident this time.

happy to see her happy with this choice

Delete this. :deadvision: Froot is her best record.
