Oh.  I was just saying she never said it was the worst thing to happen to her. It just make for a decent setup for a joke.

Unless I'm missing something, not even Taylor is that dramatic like to label a grab-ass (bad nonetheless) as her most traumatic life experience.

It's quite apparent the internet backlash made a toll on her, and granted, she's human, and maybe we all are just exaggerating since it's just a silly speech joke, but saying her career was at risk is the bigger exaggeration. Hence why to my eyes it screams privilege to me. The sole centering on her in this graduation, the doctorate and the speech over true students is privilege on itself, but whatevs.

There she is, playing the victim, again...

"Eating her up":bibliahh:

That got me too :bibliahh:

The internet isn’t “eating her up” over this, literally no one cares about this one tiny line in a 25 minute speech except the same tired atrl members who have been fuming now for…11 pages. :skull:

She's so unlikeable OMG. :biblio:

The entire first page is so pathetic, yall go out of your way to be dumb on purpose just to hate on her when you know exactly what she means

It's unfortunate that this will likely result in tons of backlash as it wasn't the appropriate venue/occasion for this kinda speech. She's usually so cautious about her image & I doubt the reception to this is gonna be universally positive. Hope it doesn't turn her off more public speaking

If this ATRL backlash is the definition of "eating her up" than by his logic we can say that she was basically #CANCELLED in 2016 with all those hate tweets.:gaycat6:

But according to him she wasn't cancelled in 2016. Contradictions after contradictions to prove  some points.:bibliahh:

... did you watch the speech? :hoetenks:

This was mentioned ONCE as a setup to a lame wine joke, in the context of a broader story of moving on from making mistakes.

The speech was well received in the venue by the people it was actually given to, and the only place on the internet where I've found any issue is in this thread :deadbanana4:

What backlash? Literally no one cares except the usual angry birds in here or on Twitter who NEVER even liked her :rip: She's been trending non stop and people liked her speech + there are several positive tweets going viral about her.

The fact that this line / joke from a +20mins speech (where she talked about her life, making mistakes, learning, growing up, giving advice to new graduates, etc) got the girls here so riled up speaks for itself.

I hope she had some words for her mother somewhere in her speech then.

Sure she had. She also had some words about her dad and brother in her speech too.

Even if she was cancelled why did she chose to speak about this?

Maybe check more than 10 seconds from the 27 minutes long speech so you will get it :toofunny2:

I don't get why this was relevant to bring up in a commencement speech, but yes, sad ugly people tried to cancel her for no reason and failed.  Seems like they're still mad about it, it's funny. :johnald:

she shouldn't make it so easy by giving them a valid reason for critique.. one can have a bit of criticism in her word choice and the obvious 'reach'. It's okay to miss the mark a bit and some things get lost in translation.

Her speech is actually getting rave reviews, there’s not much focus on one line about 2016 that she ended with a joke about how much she loves wine. :rip:

It was half of a punchline for a wine joke and a life lesson that was literally 5 seconds from a 25 minute speech.

@ATRL Administration how is this thread literally calling her an evil narcissist still open? :bunny2:

Absolutely shocked at the gaslighting in this thread.

@ATRL Administration

why are you bothered, let them let it all out

it's understandable after all... five consecutive years of L's and still not showing any signs of slowing down, made a number on them

soon it'll get better guys... or not :fan:

Putting aside her dramatic statement about her career almost being over, what she said wasn't even that deep or serious to warrant all the essays on this thread, the dramatic tones from both sides: stans and haters are :deadbanana:

Again, having to "endure" snake comments om ur insta is literally cute next to other, severe types of cancellation. Nobody is saying she didn't experience a bit of backlash here and there, but "one of the worst cancellations of the past years"? Hell no.

It wasn't a cancellation at all. The most recent ppl that suffered consequences that would  imply of a loss to their brand/career is Dababy, Morgan Wallen, R. Kelly annd Bill Cosby.. and you know what, they deserved it! but that's aside the point

Oh, so people are just being extremely extra about it for no reason because they hate how she's still winning. :giraffe:
