Banned? It's not fair for the pitbull lovers. The solution for those people who really love pitbulls as pets is to put the muzzle outside, it should be mandatory.

 

Also, they should have their own parks, separate from other dogs, just as when there are parks for small dogs separte from those for large dogs.

 

I have two large dogs, who are part of my family and would never allow them to play inside the same park with a pitbull, sorry although there are some pitbull breeds that seem to be quiter but still.

RIP woman, thats horrible. I've never had pitbulls as pets so I don't know much about them, I don't feel comfortable with them tho.

I forgot if I’ve already responded to this thread, but no.

 

All dog owners though, regardless of breed, should undergo mandatory training to own a dog. I’m always astounded by how little research people do before getting breed that doesn’t suit their lifestyle or living situation at all, are unaware of the common illnesses to expect, the costs involved, or just generally have no idea about basic grooming & socialisation requirements.

 

Animal Welfare standards are shocking in most places. Animals cannot be expected to carry the burden of human errors.

OT: bad owners = bad dogs, period. if you've proven yourself to have questionable morals or judgment, no pitbull for you!

something about that story just doesn't add up.  They had the dogs for 8 years before the first incident?  Sounds fishy to me.
