"Stay" jumps to #7 on the Billboard All-time List

Absolutely f*cking ridiculous.

:rip:

The fact that, aside from Dua Lipa, the only other female songs from the 2010’s to make the top 40 of the list are “We Found Love” and “Rolling In The Deep”. If we scan back to just the 2000’s, then it’s “We Belong Together”.

Streaming has most definitely skewed the charts since the majority that seem to be entering the top 20 are from post-2017 when streaming truly soared.

Exactly this. People want to deflect from that and make it about stan wars  :toofunny3:

????

Only 4 songs in the top 10 are from 2011+ and they were undeniably HUGE smashes.

And how many decades were there prior to the past one? How is it ok for 40% of the Top 10 to be from just one decade

You literally proved our point cuz 3 of 4 are from last 2 years :rip:

No they’re not?

Blinding Lights - Nov 2019

Uptown Funk - Nov 2014

Party Rock Anthem - Jan 2011

Shape Of You - Jan 2017

And Stay and Levitating are from the last 2 years just like Blinding Lights? :deadbanana4: Streaming has made it easier, whether you like it or no.

not even close :eli:

the fact that STAY is bigger than Despacito: 16 weeks #1 hit :WAP:

This point system is messed up since the digital era and billboard can't really adapt...

This week Stay passed Shape Of You, Macarena, I Gotta Feeling and Party Rock Anthem. It jumps from #11 to #7

it'll eventually be #3 it looks like.  Anything higher than that will depend on it falling out of the Top 25 on BB, but #3 looks to be on lock.

They need to re-vamp their formula

It was harder spending 20 weeks in the top 5 in 2000s then 30 weeks in the top 5 in 2020s

Closer and Shape of You felt WAY bigger, not to mention the ones from the early 2010s like Rolling in the Deep and Party Rock Anthem and even I Gotta Feeling. They all felt way bigger than all of the newer hits like Stay and Levitating. Blinding Lights was the only one that felt ubiquitous

Billboard needs to recalibrate the points for songs from 2017 to now because it's so silly. If they continue with the point system they have own, half of the top 10 will be songs released within the past 5 years. Stay is not one of the biggest songs of all time yet, and we shouldn’t have to pretend like it is

I can’t believe people are looking at a list that’s supposed to represent 60+ years of hits but has 3 songs in the Top 15 that are less than 3 years old, and all they can do in response is accuse the people who are pointing out its absurdity of being pressed stans :deadbanana4: This forum has really fried the brains of a lot of people :toofunny2:

Stay just doesn’t feel like the smash its numbers reflect,

honestly. Take Blinding Lights for instance, it feels like the biggest pop song in ages. Stay just doesn’t feel like it’s in the same league.

Stay feels big, it's just that people are pressed that it's a Bieber song and that it ended up being bigger than Good 4 U.

Girl, that's not how it works. Once a song stops charting on H100 it will not gain points any further. So it does not really matter if it's from 1980s or 2020s or whatever decade it is.
