the vinyl is a shortened version cuz it doesn't have the instrumentals. even though ppl like kid laroi go from 15 songs to 35 songs and that's still the same album.

 

i'm wondering why the streams wouldn't go to the shortened version though, since billboard gives all the streaming points to whatever album sells more...

Anyway, the reason Camila is flopping has little to do with her racism scandal, she just doesn’t have IT and people don’t care about her outside of her collabs with more relevant artists.

I’ve had to deal with racism my entire life, and I’m sorry but in a world full of actual blithering RACISTS, I’m not gonna direct my attention at lashing someone who retweeted ignorant jokes when they were a KID, and have been nothing but vocal and supportive of anti-racist causes from like age 15-16 onwards… this forum is just full of miserable people who need someone to hate, and refuse to accept that someone can grow up past what they laughed at in middle school

Shouldn't Billboard combine both Encanto soundtracks? It doesn't make sense to me, how are they two different things?

I am black, my point was to say that my experience as a dark skinned black man is VERY different to that of someone who is 1/4 black.

 

And if you are 3/4 Mexican and 1/4 Black then I and many people don’t have to consider you black as your experience is so different to someone with 2 black parents.

 

Where I grew up (Barbados) someone who is 1/4 black would not be considered black, not every country and culture follows the one drop American rule

I believe and don’t deny your experience with racism considering your heritage.

 

My point however is that while you are mixed with black you weren’t really the target of Camila’s racism, she was clearly aiming it mainly towards unambiguous black people and sis there’s quite a difference to laughing at a racist joke and having a whole blog making fun of black people
 

I do kinda agree that Camila has likely grown out of it but there will always be that possible doubt in mine and a lot of people’s minds. I still maintain that the racism scandal has very little to her album flopping, it just makes her an easy target to drag. Most people don’t know or care enough for it to make an impact.  

 

Even I still bop when she has a song I like ( Bam Bam), if more of her music connected with people she would be more successful but it doesn’t so she’s not.

Umm I did not once say Afro Latinos are not black enough and have even made posts on this very forum saying that they are.  

 

Last time I checked not all Afrolatinos are 3/4 Mexican and 1/4 black. Halsey is also 1/4 black and I don’t consider her black either. 

 

I consider people like Zoe Saldana, Gina Torres and Amara La Negra to be black. Focus on the actual racism afrolatinos receive and have been pointing out for decades in the Latin community before coming at me and not properly reading my post, thanks.

 

OT: Camila tanked, wow.

Liar and Shameless flopped before Camila's racism controversy. That's not the reason why she isn't slaying the charts anymore, she wasn't even cancelled for that because My Oh My went #1 on pop radio months after that controversy and she was still promoting and performing her music at awards shows after that (unlike Morgan Wallen).
