I think the base is already there on the Base list.

that's truly the issue :biblionny:idk who exactly their manager is but I know they share the same publicist as Bey but she needs someone who will better advocate for her. She's aired her label frustrations before on Twitter. Nothing too specific but they're probably wanting her debut to be tailored to one demographic and holding her music somewhat hostage. Columbia wouldn't allow her collab/feature with Yung Bleu to release despite having a VIRAL cover of his song You're Mines Still.

People are constantly saying Parkwood, but maybe Columbia/Sony is also the bigger issue.

Since we here I kinda warmed up to Treat Me. :toofunny2:

I thought the issue was with Columbia?

I guess I also have to ask...what is the issue? lol

I think the roll out for "Have Mercy" was amazing. She was everywhere. Booked MAJOR gigs that honestly years ago would've been impossible for a girl venturing off on her own from a rather low selling/small audience group. Yeah not play listing is a big thing, but outside of that I think they did a fairly great job.

We should also consider budgets. Harry is label priority right now.

Her team at the label is probably reserving budget for a sure fire hit. They could have gauged the initial negative response that the snippet got from the GP. Why would they invest all of the budget for Chloe's project into getting radio in line/streaming/performance slots etc for a single that people were calling trash and Empire music before the song even released? It's a lot that goes into it.

It could potentially be a lot of back and forth behind the scenes frfr. I thought the rollout for HM was great. I know its not great to compare but  looking at how Chlöe is handled vs how newer artists debuted or went solo it seems like the label isn’t giving their 100%.

Or on the flip side they prob are giving 100% but we became accustomed to artists coming in with mediocrity and being shoved down our throats until we like them.

I just needed a moment with Treat Me. Like certain parts I liked - but idk something about it was pissing me off :skull: idk if it was the production build up or the song being too short.

It's all of the background harmonies and runs!

A song that seems so simple on the surface is just so complex. She's so next level.

So Yung Bleu actually has a history of assault against women and current pending firearm charges. Virality isn't everything.

This is exactly what alot of female artists need protection from. Fivio has rumors surrounding him and Bey had to personally vet the Chloe collab and Say My Name sample.

Chloe also has a ton of credits under her video descriptions. She says her parents are her managers. Alot of those names that are blurred appear to be Parkwood and/or Columbia associated.

Fingers crossed for a BBMAs slot.

Wait, what happened?  Before the track was released I thought it would smash.  I still think the tracks sounds good but do people not like the song or is it the video that’s the issue?

Most people didn't like the song ever since she premiered the snippet. Video actually helped the song chart. Video is fire!
