Texas Chainsaw Massacre aged like a fine wine. Alien aged like a fine wine. Wicked Man aged like a fine wine. Don't Look Now aged well. Suspiria aged well. The Exorcist aged well. Tell me, why is Halloween the only 70 classic to age like milk? I'd argue even the other slasher predecessors like Black Christmas are better than it. I'll readily acknowledge it as influential but its children surpassed it several times over.

I mean, you're claiming this.

For the rest there's no real indication that the movie is being perceived in that way nowadays in general, on IMDB (biggest worldwide movie rate site) is 7,7 which is a lot for a horror movie, on Metacritic it's 87 and 8,5 with the users rate, 96 on Rotten certified fresh, the movie keeps being mentioned on media outlet between the Horror classics, there's no really any indication when it comes to both critics and audience that the movie has aged poorly.

To each their own. If I watch Scream 1 It's full of tension but Halloween seems boring and mid in comparison

'Scream' also came out 20 years later.

The Texas Chainsaw Box Office Massacre didn’t age like a fine wine at all for me. I rewatched it recently as I hadn’t seen it in years and not only did I find it boring, I had to lower my volume during the table scene as I couldn’t tolerate how long Sally was screaming for, it was painful to sit through.

Alien also had an $11 million budget and was funded by a major studio. Halloween was an independent movie with a budget of around 300-350K, are you telling me that Alien could have been made on that budget and garnered the legacy Halloween did?

That’s what I thought!

I absolutely love the Scream franchise, but I don’t find any of them creepy in the slightest. They’re just fun watches for me. I still find the original Halloween creepy after all these years and find that it has more of an eerie atmosphere than most slasher flicks.

I found Soft and Quiet to be disturbing enough socially wise, so I would give it a watch.

The Advent Calendar has interesting concept and then nothing else.

Soft and Quiet is probably one of the 10 worst films I've ever seen. Totally plotless and exaggerated. I honestly don't understand what the filmmakers were trying to say with it.

It would've benefited greatly if it dumped the gimmicky singular take approach. Didn't elevate the film in any way.

It's currently playing in cinemas (outside your region!) but I expect it will become accessible on the IFC streaming app via an Apple TV free trial by the end of month!

Umm it’s a very uncomfortable watch, and not in a fun way but try it. I had to turn it off 40 mins in because it was pissing me off

Well, approach had been correct since I felt disgusted by rasicm for the millionth time after it ended. I think they got their core point over.
