High chance I'm laid off by the end of the monthย :rip:.ย

I just adopted a kid, and I'm working uber eats on the weekends to save up extra money if I get laid off (I'm making $500 on Friday/Saturday nights Sunday morning, so it's turning into a good way to stash some money).

I don't think they have though and that statement like this are a tad hyperbolic sis. The same was said post 2016 that the Dems had alienated their base and were ******. Then won in 2020. Yes they lost on the margins this election cycle, but people really act like it was a complete blowout when in reality it was within the normal range of a Republican win, with yes a significant drop in a few of the core Dem voting blocs, but those people aren't lost and are the same people I believe will be back on the Dems side in 2028 after Trumps policies reek havoc.

They won even MORE on the margins in 2020 than Trump did either time. They won by 43k votes only. In 2024, Democrats lost EVERY swing state. This is such cope, it's unreal :deadbanana4:

ย

I don't think you've really captured how boned the Democrats permanently are at this point. They are never getting the Senate again. Because they wasted their one and only opportunity to do anything possible on a completely WORTHLESS Joe Biden presidency that accomplished nothing.ย

Oh god. If this is how people are thinking, democrats are going to have a continued losing streak.ย

Again, hyperbolic statement with no substance. So according to this thread, Biden only won in 2020 because of Trumps handling of COVID and nothing else but the idea that the economy crashing and wiping out people's 401ks and taking away benefits Ala Medicare results inโ€ฆโ€ฆDems losing?
ย

it's the constant insulting of other people that plays a part in progressives not growing, who wants to support a wing of a party that belittles and feels superior despite having no real foothold in the party?

I swear, I don't remember Trump's first term being this long. It feels like a prison sentence.

ย

:clack:

And what's frustrating is that Trump dominates the news cycle. At least when Biden was the president you could forget about politics for a few moments. And that probably would have happened with Harris presidency as well.

Suck up all that Copium C&B. Okay, let's say you're right? Permanent Republican control of your institutions. Congrats on your victory.ย :clack:

Democrats relying on global pandemics and economic recessions to win elections is not a good strategy. ย I'm not sure what your point is here other than to bury your head in the sand and ignore the need to form a new coalition. ย

I opted to put my savings in a high yield savings account months ago instead of the stock market despite the latter averaging a higher APY and that was definitely the correct decision

ย

:clack:

ย

The good thing about 401ks though is they do also buy stocks when they become cheaper, so it's a mistake to cash out just because the market is dipping

What's interesting to me is the right wing talking heads are slowing coming out today against tariffs and saying they didn't think he would do this when he said it for 2 years on his campaign trail in every stump speech :deadbanana:

You know how low the approval rating is for Republicans right?ย
ย

Congressional Democrats are even lower, and could bottom out in the 10% range due to how BAD they are :suburban:

This is the result moderates wanted. Progressives are the ones who fought against this while moderates always roll over to expose their soft bellies in surrender. :suburban:ย

People being surprised Pikachu'd at the tariffs shows that Trump is a Rorschach test where people see whatever it is they want to see in him just because they somehow find him charismatic. The people who supported him who wanted broad tariffs knew he was serious. The people who supported him who didn't want broad tariffs thought he didn't mean it. The people who love racism love that he's racist. The people of color who came around to supporting him think he's not racist and that it's just a media narrative. The people who are concerned about the burden of the cost of living on the working class think he's going to be the first President to bring down prices across the board (without plunging us into a depression). Other people think that he's going to be good for the rich but that that's a good thing because they too want to be rich. Some people think he's a peace loving dove who's going to end all wars. Other people think he's going to conquer Gaza and bring about the rapture.

Good sis be blessed and don't look. Nothing is saving it, and honestly, if it takes a loss for people to wake up, I'm happy losing the money.

The CCES post election data is the most nonsensical mess I've seen do far, it's not voter validated this time but still:bibliahh:It's thatย inaccurate across the board

ย

Latina Women shifting more than Latino men

ย

The Latino Male shift nearly the same as Black Women

ย

The Asian Vote barely changed since 2020ย

ย

Under 45 Black Men being closer to 40% Trump than 30%, yet they somehow still weigh overall Black Men at 75% Kamala with a 45+ avg of 17% Trump.

ย

The White Male vote shifting left by multiple points nearly tying White Women. White women shifting right multiple points

ย

The overall Male vote being R+1.6 more since 2020, but the overall female Vote being R+10.6 more since 2020

ย

Literally nothing is representative of what happened, helpย :deadbanana2:ย

Omg what kind of capitalist dystopian hell hole. I can't imagine anyone here in Europe working 5 8 hour days a week, nevermind going into the weekend with another job. Yall need to have a revolution. It's time to overthrow the system.ย
