Which maybe could work....except we see the material reality of corporate Democrats and the policy they craft and know objectively they are acting in ways that harm poor people. And that there is a material basis to be angry at them and demand better from them and holding their feet to the fire. Kamala Harris' loss embodies the corruption of Democrats finally bubbling to the surface and the trust in voters they lost and what progressives long warned of. 

 

It's not about liberal vs conservative. You guys made those labels pointless and synonymous by making Liz Cheney a Dem. Apparently Liz Cheney gets to be a liberal. It's now about establishment (liberals and conservatives) vs those who don't trust the establishment.

I think everyone is aware partisan users now try to and rely on the good sis @ClashAndBurn' nihilism to pick a fight because the same users in question can't actually argue any substantive points with other users who don't have such a nihilistic tone to their posts.

I asked the good sis Sannie why they claimed no black people lived in Wisconsin and thus low turnout wouldn't be an issue? "Putting the negativity on IGNORE!"

 

Asked the good sis on the line to provide an actual organization who is willing to put their name next to the claim that most homeless people "are drug addicts who want to be homeless"? "Blocking the radicals and extremists who only rely on personal attacks!!"

 

Even inquired from the good sis @woohoo what deep red state they live in when they - ironically - claimed Republicans are now going to be in power for decades and all progressive policy hopes are dead. I simply asked how they could reconcile such nihilism with still then saying to support Democrats electorally. Oddly didn't get a response.

Today I'm pairing it with an iced latte, a cookie baked by my colleague, and some meditation on how to spend my final days before the Roberts court (the now-eternal masters of the American soul) legalizes the ritual harvest and sacrifice of marginalized groups, lest I live to see the Water Wars as Democratic and neoliberal politics collapses inward on itself and utterly fails to prevent the myriad existential crises that Republicans are only too eager to accelerate. I would have liked to live a while longer, but you know, we had to give Liz and Dick Cheney their flowers for being so stunningly brave as to not like Trump very much.

 

Ah, would that we had chosen Bernie when we had the chance. Or maybe that second time. Hell, we could have even had a third there, or someone like him at least, if things had happened earlier. But here we are. And I hold no illusions that it's just for four years, this time. It's going to be a long forever, isn't it?

I really think a lot of you are TOO invested in 'winning' in a political thread on ATRL.
