Accelerationism makes sense as a strategy when you have already lost. I'm for it. America cannot be fixed unless the electorate changes so let it happenย

Are we in for @Harrier's Third Worldist Maoist arc?

This definitely does feel worse than 2016. We were able to write that off as a fluke by blaming Hillary's unique popularity. Last night's result arguably has little to do with Kamala at all despite her many flaws and mistakes -- it's indicative of something much larger, conservative Republicans winning handily on a far-right agenda and stomping even in blue states. Also there won't even be cringe resist lib energy now because everyone left of center is just so desensitized to him and apathetic. Pretty blackpilling. I fully understandย @Bloo's state of mind this whole cycle now.

The exit polls felt Kamala was too extreme.

ย

Why in the world going full steam ahead with leftist policies is the future of the democratic party?

ย

ย

But people on this very thread told us to not believe any of the exit polls especially the negative ones

Thankfully Trump is old af. His term for life might only be for 4 years.

ย

So 2028 is still on.

Biggest takeaway for me here is at the end of the day, right, left, middle... most people ONLY care about themselves. And not care how it will impact people they don't share any identity with.ย

ย

That and most Americans are incredibly stupid.ย

The US is an extremely individualistic society. It doesn't help that most people live isolated in the suburbs where their only interaction with people different than them are at work or in a grocery store. Nothing else matters outside of cheap gas, groceries, and housing to most people. When Congress is constantly sending money to foreign countries to fight wars but unable to help Americans afford rent, it's not hard to see why they'd want a change.

That's part of this problem with gen Z, is that they haven't dealt with that hardship before.ย

ย

The only minority groups in the US that still have to struggle with these hardships constantly are black Americans and trans people, both of which voted overwhelmingly for Harris. Cis-LGB members and other minorities haven't had to have those battles in a decade, which has allowed them to even consider voting for the party that can be so adamant about taking their rights away.ย

!!!

ย

thats the most disappointing part for me with this election. our generation literally made:

ย

- being gay OK

- being trans OK (well work in progress)

- being overweight OKย

- being different OK

- having mental health issues OK

- dating outside ur race OK

- be able have a job post-college

- be able to push new technology

- appreciating women & miniority rights more

- caring for the elderly struggling to make ends meet.

ย

the list goes on im so sick like what was i fighting for?ย :ace:

Also it's different when America experienced Trump's presidency, knows he had a shot at winning again, and still voted for him (or at least, didn't vote against him). There are no mistakes now. People knew what they wanted.

Let's face it the only way a woman will get elected president is if she is a republicanย

and white, don't forget white.ย
ย

not enough convo about how Americans, even democrat friends I spoke with were very so-so about "accepting" Kamala to be president. I ignored it back then, but now I see a clearer picture.ย

"Leftist ATRLers posting negatively on Harris cost her the election"

No one is saying that explicitly, but if you think that didn't happen on a bigger scale, you're wrong.ย  15 MILLION PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR BIDEN DIDN'T SHOW UP TO VOTE FOR HER - that is the problem.ย  They'd rather Donald Trump be in power, they'd rather lose their rights than to vote for Kamala.ย  That's the real problem.ย

YES, I'm confident GOP members are too selfish to give all the power to Trump

Republicans are not choosing a woman nominee over a Man. There will never be a female President.

2008, Obama overwhelmingly won and Democrats had the trifecta.ย

2009, the Tea-Party movement started within the Republican Party in response.ย

That tea-party movement was absorbed into the Republican Party, with all the key Republican figures adhering to the majority of that movement's beliefs.ย

ย

If Democrats follow the SAME blueprint.

ย

2024, Republicans overwhelmingly win and have trifecta.

2025, a new movement within the Democratic Party is formed, very likely a mix of left-wing populism and more progressive policies. All Democrats need to do is absorb those views into their own party and can likely achieve the same results in the future as Republicans had yesterday.ย

What's sad is if/when he does screw up the economy or whatever he wants to do with his concepts of a plan his base will just blame it on everyone else put him. The white house could be burning while Trump holds the matches and they'd blame The Pope :rip:

I mean but what's the opciones for progressive americans then? Just accept they live in a far right neo fascist state without of ever changing or improving?

ย

If that's the case what's the point of voting, democracy or Democratic party? :rip:

The loss of 16M voters for Dems would suggest this is exactly the question people asked themselves when presented with either voting for the party of Liz Cheney or the party of Dick Cheney.ย

We honestly need a large-scale reconsideration of the Democratic primary process while we're at all this. Roadblocks like this kill the candidacies of broadly popular politicians - I have no doubt the SC being so early was the first bullet put in Bernie's 2020 campaign, and one of many the smaller factors contributing to the current situation.

South Carolina was moved to the front of the line by Joe Biden and Jaime Harrison specifically to kill future populist left candidates and make certain that establishment-friendly choices would always be secure.

ย

There's no reforming this. The DNC have successfully rigged the process for themselves for the foreseeable future.

Well now there will be nobody left to blame. When social security and Medicare get completely gutted there will be solace in knowing the majority party did it. Undivided government will at least show the cracks.ย

If Trump was dead or in jail, Nikki Haley would be president right now.ย
