2024 US Election Megathread ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

I think it wouldn't have been so terrible if the Israel/Palestine situation didn't escalate to such extend and the current gov doesn't upset Muslim voters so much. Well at least I'm no longer friends with that one person who openly posted about voting for Jill Stein to "punish" Kamalaย :biblionana:

I was too young to know/care about American politics back in 2015/2016, can someone tell me what Bernie Sanders' appeal was? I know he's a progressive and that the Bernie Bros were a thing, considering where young (white) men are now politically it's a bit jarring to see how he had all that support from them back then

You can never truly guess the electorate that'll turn out given the tens of millions that never vote in this country

ย

In that sense, maybe ignore all polling going forward and track other metrics.ย

ย

I suppose that was Lichtman's way though and you see how well that went :ace:ย

I cannot stand him, the fact that this turbo loser will get validation the next 4 years from the most powerful man in the world just makes me lose all hope :skull:ย It's scary if he gets near any power

I was just about to post a genuine question for the ones who said they were anti Kamala all this time and based it all on "Kamala funding the genocide" if they thought Trump would do the right thing? I knew it'd just be worse for Palestinians, sadly. He literally said days ago he told them to do what he had to do but somehow it didn't make any difference or idk if they didn't see it or ignored it. I'll never understand them and we told them Jill was a vote for Trumpโ€ฆ and it was after she came as pro Israel today.

I genuinely have no idea what Trump supporters really want for the country.

They want to live in a whites-only, patriarchal Christo-fascist society (even more so than we already do), because the modern world is ~scary to them. They view more minorities in the country as a threat to their dominance, hence why the Great Replacement Theory is such a driver of Project 2025. The most white trash, loser person in America thinks them being white gives them status over any minority - this is what they're all clinging onto.ย

Someone needs to make sure a charge back is filed on that $100,000 credit card payment paid out to Liz Cheney for her endorsement.:suburban:

It's funny how literally none of them made any posts about Trump when he openly said many times he would destroy Palestine etc but they instead made 100000 posts everyday for Biden/Kamala...mmm I wonder why

ย

Maybe they really did secretly supported Trump after all

America is so done and the people who voted for Trump will be the first one to taste it!

Trump won in a New Jersey county that hasn't gone red since 1992. He won a county in Texas that is 97% latino and hasn't voted for a Republican since 1892.ย Unfreaking real

Never voting for a moderate dem again btw, if they don't switch up the strategy, their losses can only be blamed on themselves x

I'm surprised at the landslide but then again not so much seeing the way she presented herself in the past few months sadly. Oh well, this is 2016 all over again. I'm a little scared for the future and the effects it will have on our politics in Europe.

I don't think YOU get it. Leftists living in swing states DID make the pragmatic vote and you're still blaming US instead of the woman who said she wanted Republicans staffing her cabinet and advisory councils. :dies:ย

ย

She reaped and she's sowing. Sadly, the Dems will extrapolate the wrong lessons as always and continue chasing Republicans to the right. Their positions will be indistinguishable from the 2016 RNC by 2028. The left will be even more politically homeless, and yet our vote will still be demanded just the same as it was when Obama ran on hope and change in 2008.
