I made it through hurricane Katrina and live in an area that is prone to hurricane paths. That's why I was so angry when I saw Trump using up resources for a campaign stop yesterday. montacelo Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Trump has won an election before, so realistically he has a good chance of winning. But we should remember that he also has lost an election before and more recently at that too. I don't understand the pessimism when a toss up election is the most we probably could have hoped for, which is what we have.ย 5

RihRihGirrrl Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Though many voters may see Trump as the better 'anti-war' candidate (which is a joke since he's quick to take a strong-arm approach when speaking about Iran).....I don't actually believe most voters see him as someone with the temperament to deescalate a situation or handle a crisis 3

People just don't understand the situation.ย Like one of the things they say frequently on the news back home when we have tornadoes (like this year with the April 27th outbreak that tore through Sulphur, Marietta, and Holdenville) is to let the first responders make their way in first. Just thinking about tornadoes specifically, you can have all kinds of debris all over the place, downed power lines you can't see, structures can be dangerously unstable, etc. Throw flooding on top of that (which sometimes we get in conjunction like in 2015 when a woman in the OKC metro drowned in her shelter while taking cover) and a MUCH wider radius, and a hurricane just seems overwhelming to respond to.ย ย i think frustration is warranted, but you (general you) also have to think about how to go about rescues without putting additional people at risk.ย ย Funding being so comparatively limited is a travesty though - and it'll only get worse as climate change intensifies 5 1
