Relampago. Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I'm going to repeat what I said before tonight: I still think Kamala will win but she is doing herself no favors. She started strong, but the momentum has slowed. ย Thankfully, Trump is such a disaster of a candidate, running a horrid campaign with a terrible VP, and he's still so close. I can only imagine the hell Democrats will face if we can't get a new message/platform to stand face-to-face against whatever DeSantis-Haley-Trump Frankenstein the Republicans put together for 2028. ย If they're smart, he'll probably be hot too so we'll see lots of thirst posts in this thread I fear. A nightmare.ย ย 1 1 1
Harrier Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I've said it before and I'll say it again: the online left is not a real constituency and should not be catered to. This convention showed much more unity than the losing 2016 convention, which was real messy with all the Bernie or bust stuff. Unlike against Harris, there was genuine dislike of Hillary across many key constituencies of the democratic base, particularly among whites. This is not the same no matter how much certain characters in the thread would like it to be. ย If Harris loses - and she may - it will not be because of y'all. It'll be sheย fails to capture independents, too damaged by the unpopular Biden presidency.ย 4 2
Jackson Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I love how she's made housing such a huge part of her platform over the past couple weeks. When young people talk about concerns about that economy, housing is what they're talking about. And her focus on adding units and cutting red tape makes it clear she's actually trying to make a difference and not just talk about affordable housing while opposing the policies required to make it happen like a lot of blue state demsย 1
