Regardless, guilt by association will be the press narrative if this re-emerges for the points you mentioned. And to be clear, he was never my top pick but is now at the bottom of the list with Mark Kelly.

Yeah if the true story of his involvement goes anywhere beyond "I had no idea about the abuse, and anything I did was at the advisement of our legal team" it'll become an issue for him. 1

I'm not here to defend Kamala's record and if there's more hurt than help with progressives so be it but to finally have a lot of this aired out is refreshing. The inevitable narratives seem to be settling which is moderates going "SEE she's not so progressive!!11!1" and progressives split given the current context on changes in record and policy since then (starting with this alleged Gaza split).

I made one post and neither the tape nor dossier has been addressed by anyone in this thread for over a year. Second of all, you don't know me. I follow literally everything in politics across the spectrum from Chapo Trap House on the left all the way to The Federalist on the right (I'd say socialist and fascist but fighting over the Overton Window seems central to politics nowadays). That includes MSNBC's line-up somewhere in between.

I don't think she can win and this typhoon of goodwill from her base, the left and the press will not last when realities settle in on the ground re: inflation, immigration, and foreign policy, the right settles on effective boogeyman with right-leaning independents outside out of DEI, and Donald gets more desperate into October. If the Apprentice N-word tapes leak, there'll be a generalized shrug but Trump's PAC out of grievance will still try to resurface the Willie Brown accusations. Etc., etc. 4

Of course, he cannot run for president because he was not born in America, but he CAN find himself a puppet that will do his bidding if elected president. If the reporting's accurate, those are unfortunately her finalists. @Sannie saying they're holding their powder dry for a Beshear pick last minute but I don't buy that.
