I don't agree with it but your surprise confuses meย It's like how Democrats basically cleared the path for Hillary in 2016 or how they discouraged any substantive primary of Biden. It's not really a fair and democratic process if challenging them will ruin your future in the party and is taboo leading to you getting smeared in the media. Now anyone who challenges Kamala will be accused of disrupting much needed "unity" rather than allowing the process to be more democratic and battle testing her.ย 1 1

Biden essentially picked someone that got 1% of the votes and didn't even make it to the PRIMARIES. Even Amy Klobuchar would have made more sense. ย The woman who helped kill George Floyd?? ย ย I'm sorry but some of this is political illiteracy. ย Biden ran as a centrist, moderate, right-wing, etc. Dem. Why would he choose another white centrist Dem as his VP? One who would be more toxic to his polling than Kamala? ย There's very clear and obvious reasons why Kamala was chosen as VP, even when *I* don't agree with them as a progressive (we championed Karen Bass). ย The claim by @AlternativeFactsย is also counter-factual. Biden first committed to a woman VP. His own top picks based on unconfirmed reports were not black women. ย Biden likely shifted to committing to a black woman as VP after growing backlash from incidents like his "you ain't black" comment on The Breakfast Club. ย
