ClashAndBurn Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I don't see how you can blame this on NY Dems' dysfunction. At this point, Biden is uniquely turning New York into a swing state in ways that only he could. 1

DAP Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Beyond the usual theater, it's interesting seeing these rich donors squirm in fear. All the illusions they hoped would keep their power in check are crashing down. Thanks Biden! ย

But the question is whether keeping Biden's worse. If we were seeing dramatic differences in polling the donors would have a point. ย Also not looking forward to DEI/CRT being deployed effectively by Chris Rufo against Dems, again, in this entire conversation, when she inevitably loses as well. ย If it really is all about keeping the money advantage since donors are all that matter now apparently it has to be Kamala.
dman4life Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) With an endorsement from Biden and a white man from a swing state on her ticket Kamala would have a serious shot at winning. First of all she'll be able to deliver a fully coherent message against Trump especially on a debate stage. Also Trump's support is pretty baked in and is highly unlikely to grow beyond what it is currently. Kamala on the other hand would already have the Dem base and has a chance to grow in support with the right messaging and bring more non voters and Independents out to vote, something Joe Biden cannot do (especially now). ย Edit: It'll be even better if Biden resigned from the presidency altogether and gave her a chance to government, sign executive orders etc but we all know Biden's not going that farย Edited July 10 by dman4life

I'm not saying you're wrong, butย ย โฆ.. ย As for a youth coalition, that ship sailed with Gaza. Imo, Kamala can only win this year because Trump is a disastrous candidate. If she's up against any other Republican, or if she's up against an incumbent Trump after SCOTUS somehow throws out the 22nd Amendment, she doesn't really have a path. ย It's not really Sarandon-style accelerationism. It's the pragmatic option. Biden is a 100% guaranteed loss. Kamala at this point is roughly 85% in 2024 and 97% in four years with her only saving grace being that her opponent would be Marjorie Taylor Greene, at which point the race MIGHT actually be a toss up. 1
