Vermillion Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Well clearly, the placating attempts by Jeffries are not going to extend to stifling vocalizations of continued problems with Biden as the nominee from swing districts, even if the action is ultimately that he is the nominee at the convention. So this is going to continue to get worse and fester until November when we get a Trump blowout. And in the meantime, Chicago's gonna be ugly. Nancy just dumped a truck of gasoline onto this bonfire. 1

Blade Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Pelosi trying to say NYT are misrepresenting her words Girl, Joe sent an ESSAY on Monday saying he was not stepping aside. Then you get on Morning Joe and say time is running out to make a decision. You know what you were doing.

Aslan Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I think a change in leadership and a new presidential candidate would work in favour for the dems. It would dominate the news cycle and drown out trumps same old antics. come on Joe, do what's best for America… 1

But since I follow the news across the political spectrum and they're now literally breaking it as a power player I don't have much of a choice. There's also Tommy Vietor and Dan Pfeiffer. I know they have a drier format and don't really make any splash on socials but I really appreciate the Majority Report coverage
dman4life Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I believe the party leaders are waiting until after tomorrow's press conference (which they already KNOW is gonna be a hot mess) to unleash the floodgates. That way Biden and his team can't hold onto the "it was just a bad night, only 90 minutes etc" rhetoric. Additionally any elected leader who calls for Biden step aside but doesn't immediately throw their support to Kamala aren't doing the party any good. 1
Blade Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Prayer circle for Biden to get bombarded with questions that he can't comprehend

If Kamala replaces Biden as the nominee she will be asked everyday if she knew about how bad Biden's condition was and then she will be accused of participating in elder abuse. Changing the candidate is not going to make it all go away. Even if she says all the right things and gives a beautiful speech about the evils of Trump and project 25, the damage is done. The only way out is if Biden resigns and Kamala immediately pushes bold policies and executive orders. This is probably impossible because Biden is obsessed with his own legacy and will not want to be the second president (after Nixon) to resign. 3

Someone mentioned his press conference is tomorrow night outside of his "good hours" so maybe they expect this to be his next big gaffe before the last big push out
GhostBox Posted July 10 Posted July 10 What we are seeing is some of them hedging their comments based on how the press conference goes. if it goes badly. They can be like "see this is what I was concerned about" which politicly is smart to do. if he did great they can be like "this is what I was saying he needed to do to reassure voters. I'm with Joe" 😂
Virgos Groove Posted July 10 Posted July 10 This situation is giving me Tony Blair circa 2006 vibes: an extremely unpopular politician clinging to power against his own party's wishes and delaying the inevitable. It's only a matter of time until some people start resigning to create a sense of momentum. The Clooney op-ed is already causing major damage. 2

GhostBox Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Let's just say Biden does do horrible tomorrow and the Dam breaks and he does step aside for the nomination. it's going to be Kamala as the nominee. who does everyone think she should pick to help the ticket win? I say Josh Shapiro is the most politically smart choice because if they win PA trump isn't going to win. but I also like Beshear from KY. or hell just go all out and put Whitmer on the ticket as well 😂 I think Hillary would have had a better shot at winning if she would've went with Warren in 2016. 💀
